Allan there not kids,my neighbours have a girl and a boy ages 16 and 23 they both have partners the 16yrs olds being 18 and the 23 year old sons being the same age.so its 2 extra mouths to feed.

Will speak to OH later and see what he says, ive contacted the venue and they said aslong as we cater for 80% of the guests there will be plenty of food. Its more the principal that i dont know these extra 2 people and that we want asked.
We get on with our neighbours but they can be a bit cheeky like when they Borrowed our gas for there BBQ and used it all and never thought to replace it!!

Our venue said to cater for less if you are watching the budget as most people only pick at bits and pieces rather than go for a whole plateful. After all it's a token feed not a full blown meal!

Yep,it was 3 quarters full when we lent it them,he had his BBQ on for over 5hrs hence how it was empty.OH didnt want to say anything as the weekend before the neighbour had kindly offered to help OH erect the kids wooden playhouse.

    Unbelievable!

I'd avoid lying about it, as these things always come back to bite you, but I'd definitely pull them to one side and say "hi, this is really embarrassing, but..." - if they're in any way decent, they'll be mortified at how presumptuous they've been!

Personally I'd say it was only for the 4 of them.

If it was just for the evening personally I'd let it go on the basis that chances are I won't even see them on the day anyway. Paying for a buffet for 70 people and having 82 guests will still be plenty - our venue says to cater for 80% of the guests so we are having 100 in the evening but having a buffet for 80.

LOL SORRY - I thought we were talking like two little kids or something. Definitely say something then! My parents get invites to weddings all the time without me or my other brothers, and they would never dream of just adding us on if not on the invite. I previously thought there may be childcare issues or something, but thats just plain rude.

    Very sorry for the misunderstanding!

However after their rudeness I may think twice about inviting them to things in future!
