Hmm, he does. Hadn't thought of that! Thanks :)

Or you dont tell the boss the truth but you ask what time he finishes and you just happen to be there when he leaves work.

He is suddenly unreachable... It annoys me, because he was paying the monthly DD's for over a year and I know that he's got assets he could sell.
So he really is just stitching me up because we fell out... quality bloke

maybe you should try the old fashioned way of ringing him when you know he is not at work, just a thought.

oh or even, this is a novel idea knock on his door

If you're going to try to be condescending, then you are going to improve as this is pathetic.

And OP, track your ex mate down and nail a rat to his face. This always works with outstanding debtors I have dealt with before.

I wasn't being condescending, I was being honest.

the OP is lying and I happen to know that not only did he speak to the debtor just before he posted this (the debtor rang him with a room full of witnesses me being one of them and had the phone on loudspeaker so we could all hear it, he didn't trust the OP any more) but he has never tried to come to the debtors house and has only sent him 1 text message that the OP knows he doesn't read because he cannot read or write very well, it was only when the debtors son read him the text that he realised it was there, that is when the debtor rang the OP.

the debtor has explained to the OP that he is on a debt management plan and was under the impression everything was sorted, the reason the OP never received a copy of the letters is because there was never any letters to copy, TFS loans told the debtor that it was all sorted through the debt management plan, had the debtor known different he would have sorted it.

unfortunately the OP here just likes to make out that he is the victim in everything, the simple fact of the matter is if the OP had bothered to phone the debtor he would have been told what was going on, the OP also states that he has tried every way he knows of to contact the debtor, the debtor has not moved in 7 years and the OP knows his address very well

i just feel that if you are going to put things on a public forum then be truthful and the answers you get will be more helpful.

and as for the fact that the debtor has assets to sell... i think he would love to know which assets as he is planing on moving soon and would love the extra money.

So is the guy now going to pay..? i doubt that..as he has gone on a debt plan...not bad for some one who had no problem getting loads of credit.....no wonder loan companies charge 1000s of % apr when you have all these people around..
and your mate has stitched this guy up big time....its your mate i would not trust not the op..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

actually he has been trying to sort everything out and has made numerous phone calls to TFS loans.. but that is not what my post was about. my post was about the fact that the OP has lied through his teeth on here and said he has tried to contact the debtor, when he was on the phone with the debtor just before the OP wrote this post. he has the debtors mobile number, house number and home address it is not difficult to contact him.

yes the debtor is going to be paying the loan off and has been talking to both TFS and the debt management company and they are in the middle of sorting it all out, debt management does not mean he is not paying the loan it just means he is paying a company to help him sort out all the different debts he has, most of which were left with him when his sister died and left him a house with a very hefty mortgage. we are all struggling in this world and its about time someone thought to blame the loan company, after all they are the ones telling the debtor thats its all sorted with the debt management and they are the ones who have never contacted the debtor about this loan, the debtor told the OP that he would do everything he could not only to pay the loan but to pay the OP as well.

maybe if the OP would bother to phone the debtor he would get the information that he is asking for rather than leaving it to a dishonest loan company, i say dishonest because the debt management company has been paying the loan off also, the debtor has never missed a payment to them and has the receipts to prove it.

    1. not your fight, stay out of it
    2. even if the debtor is making payments, on a DMP they are reduced payments
    3. therefore the loan company are right enough to go after the guarantor, any sensible business person would. it is why they took a guarantee in the first place.

No way would I be sticking up for the bloke that left his "mate" with debt. None at all. Whether you are a lover or a toking buddy or a flatmate - get your rose tinted glasses off. Stitched up like a kipper!!

its a public forum, therefore I have my right to a say as much as everyone else and as for its not my fight, it is no one else's fight either but there are still people on here giving their opinion, at least I am giving fact which is more than what the OP has done!

The debtor did not 'leave' anyone with the debt, when he went on the Debt management he phoned TFS loans and they assured him that it would be ok. since he has found out what has happened he has been trying his hardest to get the whole sorry mess sorted out.

the debtor only knew about this at the beginning of this month after his son found a text from the OP.(the OP knows that the debtor cannot read or right very well and does not take any notice of texts)

no idea if you are actually involved in the original position

you are defending the debtor too much to be impartial - you are either the debtor or their partner I think

you views therefore have no validity with me. others may vary. I think you're stirring in someone else's pot. Unless this ends with "and here is your money OP" then you are not helping.
