Thanks for all the replies guys. It seems to be as I feared. I figured if anyone knew it would be people on MSE!
Going to sort out paying the loan off and getting the process started for going to the small claims to get it back from the debtor I think.

You will be taken to court where a ccj will be issued for the full amount of the loan and costs, bailiffs will then be instructed to collect it by selling your goods.
