I am listing an auction with no BIN - I have had two questions asking my BIN price
Listing ends on Sunday, one person wants it for a party on Friday.
What would you do?

I would ask how much they were offering and go from there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I would also quote for special delivery as thats the only way to guarantee delivery in time...post weds, they get thursday.0

I would also ask them to place a bid so you can then sell to the 'highest bidder' even if they only bid 99p you can alter the total price by adjusting the p+p charges to make up the difference...Save you high selling fees etc ;-)) :beer:0

Not long ago had the same kind of query. Buyer was "DESPERATE" to have the dress I had on for auction. She had been looking for it for a while and couldn't believe she had found it in her size. She asked if I would consider "Buy It Now" as she wanted it for the weekend and the listing didn't end until a few days later. I went back to her within a few minutes and said I would be happy to do so if she wanted to make me an offer. I brought the dress with me to work that morning so that, when I heard from her and was happy with the offer, I could pop to the Post Office and get it away to her that day ... I never heard from her again ....0

Not a good idea at all as it is easy for a buyer to then claim the postage is being adjusted unfairly, and they want to pay the original postage. It is also fee avoidance so any complaint by buyer to ebay could get nasty for seller.slimthinker wrote: »I would also ask them to place a bid so you can then sell to the 'highest bidder' even if they only bid 99p you can alter the total price by adjusting the p+p charges to make up the difference...Save you high selling fees etc ;-))

Sounds to me like the person wants it desperately for Friday, but the item will by an amazing coincidence, not arrive on time and you end up with an abusive buyer on your hands! :eek:Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £10,153.440

Or the person was wanting you to take it off ebay so they could get it cheap. The peope who ask about buy it now usually dont reply when you ask them how much they want to pay.The party story prob isnt true.0

I've recently done this. I told the person what I would accept for it on Buy It Now. It was slightly more than I expected the auction would go up to, so I wouldn't lose out. The buyer agreed to the price and I set the item to buy it now. Had no problem! First time I have done it.I can see how problems might occur but not necessarily...
I think it's worth telling them what you'd take and adding how quick they would have it rather than asking an open question of how much would they pay. I also think they should expect to pay slightly more than the auction might go up to, and that's the price they pay for securing the item and getting it quickly. Add to your message that if they're not happy to pay that price, they are welcome to bid.0 -
I told them I wasn't accepting BINs and that they were welcome to bid - they bid before I sent this reply.
