Hello, after reading a few posts on here-I had a few ideas in mind (chocolate spoons and the slabs etc). So today I picked up a few things-managed to find the xmas silicone moulds (trees and ginger bread men) in poundworld to start with. Then found spoons, shot glasses etc. I've got some chocolate and decorations-so just need to get started soon!

I couldn't see any of the pudding bin bags but I'm not too worried about getting them.

I'm still trying to think of a present for my son's birthday...I'll keep looking for ideas :)

  • My DD aged 8 met santa at one of the local Churches Christmas fayre last week. She had a card today from Santa telling her he will do his best to get her the things she asked for and there were pictures of the scooter and clothes and jewellery which she asked for lol. Her face was a picture. Bless.

Yay the coke advert has just been on.:j

  • Unfortunately I had a run in with somebody yesterday and I wasnt quite so bold at sticking up for myself.

Oh I feel for you! I don't think some people realise how easily they can upset others and how it stays with you. A few months ago a lady on a train got up from her wheelchair (!) to shout, swear and threaten me because she thought I'd been rude to her. I hadn't been and the whole carriage of people looked genuinely shocked by her behaviour but I couldn't stop shaking for ages! Even thinking about it now I get shaky! Wish I'd stood up for myself but she was so aggressive (she kept calling me the c-word, and I don't mean Christmas ;)) that I just skulked off. Everyone else on the carriage looking sympathetic just made it worse!

Anyway, back to the nicer C-word...

I wrapped most of my presents today, which means I now have wrapping-knee and sellotape-lip! Hoping these pictures work:

I still have my OH's and sister's presents to do, they're my favourite as I go all out with their wrapping. Others have been known to complain that I make presents "too difficult to get in to" or worse yet, that I've "wasted" time or money wrapping them. Those people now get as basic as I'm willing to go - coordinated paper, label and curling ribbon!

I only need to buy a few stocking bits now, and wait and see who I get through Secret Santa at work - if I was in charge they would have been allocated in June! I've also made a hamper for my team at work, full of lovely teas, coffees, chocolates, biscuits and some bubbly. I also got one of these with the name of my department rather than a family name. There will undoubtedly be a split - those who love it and those who think it's stupid. :rudolf:

I only ever tweak my Christmas menu a bit but this year I'm so organised that I plan to do lots of cooking and baking in November and December. I love to but never normally get the time, beyond the few bits I make for friends and family.

I have a question about the stuff made with cheaper chocolate - what does it taste like?! It all looks fab but keep thinking it must still taste like cheap chocolate? Not that this would actually bother most of the people I buy or make for...my OH loves cheap chocolate! And I've not actually had the Lidl stuff, will have to try it!

Haven't seen the Coca Cola advert yet as not an X-Factor fan but hope everyone's enjoyed it! I always wish they'd play the original one instead of making new ones, the song from that was the best!

I bought my frozen turkey today!!! 17lb ready in my chest freezer. I also bought a few tins of biscuits and bottles of wine. Just done a bit of wrapping & I'm gonna do the last few bits before next week as I'm off to see Santa in Center Parcs!!!!
