  • Watching a Christmas film at the moment - which is on [in full] on YouTube. :) Holiday In Handcuffs, it's called. Not the best film lol but I like it because it starts two actors from my childhood - a guy from Saved By The Bell and Melissa Joan Hart aka Sabrina. :o

In keeping with my owl theme lol, I noticed some more nice bits in Poundland today. An owl money box, brightly painted, and matching owl fridge magnets. I left them there [for now] but they did look quite cute. Instead, I bought some books that were 2 for £1. They are hardback and are in a "banned" book range. Things like Clockwork Orange and Lolita. :)
  • Hey all! life nearly back to normal after the chaos of half term lol

Can't remember if i mentioned but i picked up a toilet seat cover and some christmas small cakes mix in 99p shop the other day.. Im Sure tescos will get some xmas themed mixes in too but grabbed some in there just incase!

Making my christmas cake this afternoon, tempted to put some xmas music on or maybe i'll just sit and watch a xmas movie this afternoon lol.. So looking forward to saturday night my dd3 is singing with the drifters on stage :D which are christmas songs too so im bound to feel even more xmasy after that!

:jhow fantastic for your DD!! I grew up listening to The Drifters and always loved them, a couple of years ago my OH was at a do they were playing at, and they came round tables getting people to sing with them (OH can't sing, but the guy told him he had a lovely voice ...OH will never let us forget that!! :rotfl: ) but he said they were just the loveliest guys, so am sure you and your DD will have a fantastic time! am so excited for you! :D .. and not a little envious! ;)

Nearest 'coke lorry tour' is Reading, youngest 2 will be at school but it's 3 days after my eldest as an operation, if he's up to it might be a nice treat for him ;)
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....

  • welcome Newbies!! lovely to see so many liem minded peeps here and love hearing about your traditions and what you are planning!

Buffy The Vampire Bat (great name!) your traditions sound fab, and re the film - for some reason its always Monsters Inc for us ...not at all Christmassy either but we always watch it in december! along with all the festive ones too :) my DS says his favourite Christmas film is Die Hard - it topped a poll of Chrsitmase favourites last year too, amazing what 'Let It Snow' will do for a fab film!

thanks for the Coke Truck info, and also about the Lidl pasta, may go have a nosey!
  • Ok i'm going to attempt to post picutes now, sorry if this all goes wrong!! As we're visitng my auntie and family this weekend we have made up a food basket for them all as a Christmas gift to share:

    DSCF4323.jpg

It has Cadbury's chocolate chunk cookies, Haribo Tangfastic sweets, strawberry Angel Delight, Cadbury's chocolate fingers, Nobby's chilli nuts, bbq Sensations, strawberry jam, After Eights, Terry's Chocolate Orange Segmnets, Magners for the adults and orange Tango for the kids!

    Then I wrapped it:

I've never wrapped a hamper with cellophane before so it's not great! I tried to hide the contents with the red tissue paper and the cellophane has gold stars all over it. You can still see in the basket but I didn't mind too much on this occasion as i'll tell them to open it early so they can enjoy it! For my next hampers I will do better!

    I hope these have uploaded!
