  • sooo pleased, dh is usually a typical xmas grinch "u spend too much" ... "why are u looking at christmas paper in july?" and, my personal favourite "we are NOT watching a christmas movie in october", however, i just casually mentioned a bargain pressie i had seen for eldest dd, and he asked me what i wanted for xmas, i reeled off the usual perfume, sexy undies, chocolates etc "oh and id love for us to do each other stockings", and to my suprise his response was "thats a lovely idea, what budget? shall i do u one of those xmas eve hampers you do me & kids too?", i thought he was taking the michael but he said i work so hard all year making xmas magical for him & kids, he really wants to do the same for me! i picked myself up off the floor in time to see him browsing the web for 'xmas stocking' and humming rudolph the red nosed reindeer! i darent tell him that his response tonight is the best xmas gift ever, i dont want my new santa husband to dissapear!

what a wonderful hubby and a lovely thing to do! that really made me smile. :):T
  • lexie is beautiful debt free wannabe (think thats the right username!)

also wondering where chirpychick has got to? hopefully levan has made his arrival.

aww on my own, a little robbie the reindeer! how cute!

huge hugs to everyone that needs one!

ive had a bit of a bad few days. i spent the day in hospital yesterday as i had a bad bleed. i am 17weeks pregnant and after listening to babys heartbeat and having an internal examination i have been told everything is ok with baby :T and its just one of those unexplainable things. i am still bleeding now (not as much) and although i have had the reasurrance by doctor and the midwifes and i have no pain, i am still understandably, really worried! i have slept for most of the day (feeling so drained)
but reading the 10 pages of this thread that i have fallen behind on has taken my mind off my worries and transfered all thoughts onto sparkly, tinselly things instead :T:T:T

on thursday i went for a browse around town and managed to get dd's some sleeping beauty pjs from argos (i think they were a 1/3 off, at £7.99) picked up one of the mini gingerbread house tins from M+S (half price £5) both for the the xmas eve hampers (the biscuits to share)

also picked up fashion wheel reduced to £5 in the entertainer for dd. dh asked if it was for myself or dd. i'll be honest, its debatable:o they really need to worry when shes old enough that i can buy 'her' dreamphone :D:D

i also traded in all my mil's nintendo ds games in (she tells me to throw them if i dont want them  but i trade them and then every few months buy her a new release).
i got £26 in store credit on a 'happy birthday' gift card. i will top this up, hopefully next week with another £14 and gift it to my eldest nephew for both his birthday on the 1st dec and christmas.

also hoping to buy some spray paint and spray varnish this week to 'recycle' my old tablemats and coasters into some new shiny ones with reindeers on (BEST christmas ever, making special mag page 61, but mine will be gold and purple to match my decs) very excited how these will turn out!

  • 4 people on my list are completely done now. I've almost finished a further 4. Just one person left that I really need to think about - he is so hard to please lol. :o

Very happy with the latest purchase. My younger brother wanted Lost S6 on DVD. Amazon have it for £14-something but I've managed to get it on Zavvi for £10 [due to a lower start price and a discount code sent on a "we miss you" email]. :)

Part of me can't believe Christmas is still so far away. I am incredibly into it this year. :D

Heh, me too. Seems ages still.

People are always moaning that it starts earlier and earlier, I don't think it does at all! Not one shop I've seen has any actual decorations up yet at all. Most shops only have a small Xmas section so far, and most of them have only just appeared. And it's nearly November!

  • I went to a local garden centre today and they had a large Christmas section and were playing Christmas music. But that is the first place I've been to that is. :)

That was another productive trip actually. I went to smell Yankee Candles, discovered that the one I nearly ordered last night actually smells great and so was able to come back home and order it at £8 less than the garden centre price. :) I did buy a couple of things from the centre though, so I don't feel too guilty lol. :)

I work in a shop. We've got one aisle of Christmas gift sets and one aisle of Christmas chocolates - that is out of 12 aisles. So, not much at all. And, we are not playing Christmas music or anything yet... I've still had a couple of customers complain to me though about it being too early lol. Yet, I've also had customers say they have finished all their Christmas shopping now. So, I suppose you can't please everyone. :o

  • Damzel_In_Distress-Your poor DS having psoriasis, hope it stays away for good! Ive had it head to toe since I was 7 and am now 24. :( The bubble bath bottle will be fab decorated by hand, made with love! I had a bit of a xmas pyjama breakthrough today! :j Tesco had pyjamas with checked bottoms and a top with a reindeer silhouette on it! It could be a moose but Im saying reindeer. :rotfl: They were £7 and DS says its a reindeer so at least I have some sort of xmassy pyjamas lol! They also had a blue onesie with snowflakes all over it for £8! No good for me as it was fleece but Ill put pics of both up later so you can see them. :) Im still on the really christmassy pyjama hunt. :D

It was quite sore when he was very little, but luckily we haven't seen any sight of it for the past 3 and a half years! Which is very lucky as I know some people, like yourself suffer with it constantly! Skin conditions can cause people so many problems, Even if it's not the irritation, it can really knock your confidence if it's on view :(
Luckily for DS it was only on his legs, and fingers crossed he has 'grown out of it'.

My tesco is HUGE and they have the check bottom type pjs but all the tops to go with are plain ones. Pffft. Useless tesco! Haha. I'll keep looking now I know they *may* get some though because £7 isn't a bad price once I factor in bus costs for go to primark! :)

For anyone who does Snowman Soup, I just came across these

    http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/crafts/msg120923493568.html

Same principle, just a little different.

Oh this is great. Thanks for posting! I was going to have a go at snowman soups this year just as a little extra for some people but I much prefer this version!... Well If I'm being honest I just like making anything that involves using googley eyes :rotfl:

Losing Sky on tuesday (cannot justify £80 month) so will miss out on the Christmas films on film24. Looking forward to the Christmas station on the radio though. Christmas music 24/7:D

It's my understanding that film24 etc are free sky channels, so even with no subscription you can still watch them?
When I had sky they were always free ones and after I cancelled I could still watch film 24 and the other few that are similar.

Which brings me to something I was going to post anyway... I managed to get the sky plus box today, and I already have all the fittings and dish etc which are fully working ,so even though I won't be subscribing, I *should* be joining you all in christmas movie heaven :j:D
Going to plug it all in tomorrow and I can't wait!
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona
