Thankyou didn't know you could do that!!

you're welcome! only knew cos I had 3 to use and went looking! :D
  • i love how they believe what we tell them (but also it seems bad as we are lying??? hmmm)
i have a 6 year old son and a 4 year old daughter so 1 of each - had to fight for this baby as oh only wanted 2!!!! as for this one it has kept its legs firmed closed - through all 4 scans(had extra as my daughter has a heart condition and it was/is a little small) - so it wants to keep us waiting - hopefully not too long!!!

on the upside - will have a buggy again for xmas shopping - really missed having somewhere to put the bags once dd outgrew hers - hate people bashing my bags!!!

:D they don't seem to have held it against me though! .... yet

lovely that you have one of each already so either way you will know what you are dealing with! :D Hope you don't have to wait too long, keep us updated! x

Well it's happened. As of today my two officially don't believe in Santa. :(
DD (7)'s tooth fell out in the swimming pool at school. I was feeling really poorly and I forgot to swap the tooth for the £1 coin that night.
In the morning she pretty much said she didn't believe in the tooth fairy. This morning she's taken the next logical conclusion and asked about Santa, having already been suspicious last year (it was those elves that did it!). She asked me to tell her the truth, so after about 10 minutes skating around and her not giving up, I did. She has now announced she is going to search the house and is very satisfied with her detective work.
But I hoped I'd get one more year. :(
Never mind, they're perfectly happy to play along and have promised not to spoil it for their younger cousins.

*sends you hugs* :( its a shame I know, I think girls are a bit more keen to show they are grown up and know something you don't, boys seem to go with the flow! my DD (15) said she thinks her brother is a bit 50/50 about it (he's 12) but I know he's not, he's just playing along as he enjoys it :D he's made the odd little comment with a sideways smile at me, but they love the hanging up of the stockings and everything so much that it just doesnt get discussed!

have I brainwashed them well! :rotfl:

Yes DS (10) hasn't said a word about it, he's knows which side his bread is buttered, LOL! I think they'd be horrified if I suggested dispensing with the stockings though, and so would I so we'll carry on as normal. We'll be with their much younger cousins this xmas Eve so there will be the whole business of mince pie and carrot being put out as usual, even if I have to zip their mouths up.

  • noodles86 I have been anaemic and felt rubbish from 9-27 weeks the midwife finally suggested I take Spatone when she realised I hadn't been able to function at all. Unfortunately you have to pay for it yourself which is £6 on Amazon but I took it and by day 2 I felt amazingly better - I now am borderline but continue with the Spatone which your body accepts better than tablets (which would be free) and I have felt so much better ever since. It is so worth the £6.
The midwife also told me to continue taking it for a few weeks after the birth of baby as it will help perk me up then too.
I definitely feel for you, I felt like nobody was understanding me at all because I was exhausted and the first time I said it to the midwife her and her colleague laughed and told me to get used to it, id never feel human again for the next 18 years - i was getting so upset about it. But just a few days of spatone and i felt almost 100% - i may have even had that "bloom" it is rumoured pregnant women get if i had been taking it sooner ;)

Ah thank you, sounds like your midwife is more with it than mine! I really want the flu jab, so need to find out how I go about getting that too! x

My dd bring me a mince pie and glass of Baileys on Christmas Eve, on the Santa tray I used to put it out on when she was younger.

It was a while after she stopped believing that she asked what happened to the mince pie and drink. She looked disgusted when I said I ate them.

The following year she got the tray out and asked ' Do you want your pie and Baileys ?'

Well, eating it was my own little tradition by then.:snow_grin

BBTHREE what a lovely person you are. You've really made me smile. And moneysavingmumofone it's a truly lovely idea

Nanamia, just to reinterate for any newbies on here, "Bents" is a xmas obsessed garden centre and has the greatest xmas selection of stuff I have ever seen.

It's not the cheapest, but even if you buy nothing the displays are AMAZING!

It is in the north west but... For anyone that can get there it would amazing if we all met up.

Nanamia, will defo get u there, but will leave this as a totally open offer for everyone on here, and we could pick a date (possibly last Sat in November?!?) and all just meet up. :D
    Aims for 2014
