I got 3 presents for Christmas-

CD from dd - I bought it
DVD from ds - I wrapped it

and a pink plastic cake stand from a lady at work. Lucky she wasn't here, apparently my face said it all.:rotfl:

I have also had a not so good day. Been abused on the phone and on here.
(Lady has now been reported and blocked by quite a few posters)

Then to top it all off, ds comes out with,' Its boring here today, isn't Christmas meant to be different' :eek:

So next year it will be different, and woe betide he says anything.

Kinda feels like that at my OHs. Popped round to pick him up after his dinner and he's sat playing a computer game whilst everyone else is asleep. They haven't opened any of their presents either. It's like the twilight zone compared with my house

Merry Christmas all. I'm planning to join you in 2013 rather than lurking as you've been pretty inspiring.

My christmas went well. I gave a few crafted gifts which went well so next year the plan is to craft them myself rather than buy them - at least I moved in the right direction this year and I'm sure profits at John Lewis, house of fraser etc will have suffered accordingly:D

Dinner was a big success. The only down side was the terrine tin from Lakeland which was quite frankly pants. 2013's resolution is not to set foot in that store. The customer service is good and they do refund however I'm tired of being let down and having to ask for my money back.

Just hubby and I now so we are having tea and crackers with cheese (how grand!!).

Decorations coming down tomorrow which is a bit sad however we are of to the States for a few weeks so I'll be starting my 2013 planning from there (and hopefully picking up some bargains). Will keep you posted.

Also wanted to say - I'm sure it was one here that someone mentioned the tradition of having the Pioneer Woman's breakfast muffins on Christmas morning. Well I made the filling last night and hubby and I scoffed them this morning - they were fab so a huge thanks to whoever suggested that. May well become a tradition in our house too.

to be honest it is a bit like that here mum who has been feeling sick most of the afternoon has gone for a dad who was in bed til 10 opened some presents and then went back to bed is now upstairs on the computer whilst I'm downstairs on the kindle and have just watched call the midwife on my own

I too gutted and do feel like a spoilt child but dammit I work hard to make sure everything is ready for Christmas and that it doesn't cost too much and I can't get the parents to do what I want to make Christmas good for me because they are stubborn and you know if I mention this I'll be accused of being spoilt plus I had 2 days off for Christmas yesterday I was ill and I spent the day cleaning and tomorrow I'm at work and I am knackered and now grumpy.

Oh Amy that sucks. What other days are you working this week . I could come over, do a bit of shopping and we could meet up for lunch .

I find that on other parts of the board. some people have nothing nice to say so have to be mean. <<hugs>> glad you got some support.

My mother talked herself out of me bothering with her any more today. I suggested we skype them (mum, sister, neice, grandparents as they only see kids maybe once a year - mum maybe 3 times) but she made excuse after excuse till I told her to forget it. (one being - it can't be xpm thats when we are opening presents..............well if thats more important then talking to your grandchildren for the first time since September then stuff you)

see the A with the colour underneath at the top of the white box when you are typing? highlight the text you want to change then click that to change the colour.

I did quite well pressie wise.
Got some nice bits from family..........and some bits that are sooo hideous I can't even give them as presents next year......seriously people pay good money for these items for themselves???????

Hubby got me a couple of 'surprises'.......including the wrong board game (i know its cause he'd rather play this one then the one i asked for) and a cuddly toy.

DS2 still has a handful of unopened pressies lol.

Stick with the spaceship - I'm a non swimmer so any other kind is a no-no. Life jackets aren't a good look and my personal flotation devices kind of get in the way. Come to think of it I can't understand why I can't swim.....................
