What happened to the "guess how many pages we will have at Xmas?" I didn't guess but would be interested to see who was closest! Still got at least 15 hours left though til the big day!! SO EXCITED!

Also, if I don't log on before New Year, Happy 2013 :-) xxx

  • kids still in bed ..... the NEVER sleep past 7 and the urge to go and check they are ok is FAR outweighed by the knowledge that if I open that door I will be hit within minutes with 2 small batman/ robins tearing around my legs screaming.
.............early bath and bed tonight I think, no way am I waiting until 8am to open pressies tomorrow. :rotfl:

might sneak off downstairs and make some scones/ try and sort the gammon/ fake ice the yule log.............and see what devistration Bouncy Ben Elfling has done on his last day (is it just me that's sad to see him go :( ...........have already booked his train tickets to join us on our holiday in April.

.............ohhh good I can hear DS2 "singing"........now have I got time to make a cup of tea?

HEY ITS XMAS EVE!!! ITS XMAS EVE!!! ITS XMAS EVE!!!!

i was rather silly and tried the dr pepper zero (dr pepper sends me a bit hyper in a good way but then i get hangover effects) i had about 3 mouthfuls and wham! ok so its not whatever they take out that causes it lol got 5 hours sleep and feel like i've had a night on the town without the alcohol... cheap date me LOL

    BUT ITS XMAS EVE!!!!

Got a few bits to get in town, if they are anywhere, if not i'm not overly bothered, then home todo some baking.. guess i should go over my parents house at some point too lol as dh really doesn't want to go out tomorrow as we usually do but i know they have got him an excellent pressie.. might have to get him a lil tipsy ;)

  • yeh have found 2013 thread & bookmarked it! thanks omo, my bday is nov 28th.
dh has been up all night coughing & spluttering, looks like a nasty case of man-flu, so he has been sent back to bed this morning with strict instrutions to remain there until he is better... after all this years problems, no way is a case of man-flu gonna spoil our christmas!!
dd's were delighted with their christmas eve hamper, and ive had to wrestle the onsie off dd(12) so she saves it to wear tonight!!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • Happy Christmas Eve everyone :D
Nanamia sorry to hear you've been a little low - glad you're back with us.
OMO a huge thank you for being such an inspiration, and for finding us our new home on the 'Holly & the Ivy' thread.
Everyone else I am much richer for hearing all your daily yuletide chatter - thank you all! I am planning a very mse year for 2013, lots more handmade gifts, christmas present bargain hunting all year round, etc, etc
And it is my New Years Resolution to learn how to upload photos!!!

Right now, the Gammon is slow cooking in cherry coke (thanks Nigella!) and i am off to do a last minute dash to Te$cos then it's home to present the boys with their xmas eve hamper and snuggle on the sofa to enjoy a new 'ice age 4' dvd with lots of xmassy sweets and snowman soup :) Life is good!!!!
    Merry Christmas 2012 everyone xxxxx
  • i found the 2013 thread too :D

Gammon is in my largest pan boiling in coke as I gave up trying to cut it to a slow cooker sized shape..........note to self 1kg is apparently enough for 4..........next year don't buy 2.5kg just becuase it was cheap!!!! (half price down to £3.99 a kg)

christmas spice muffins exploding over the top of the muffin tins and kids torturing each other.
right on with the washing up.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

However ds (5) went upstairs and proceeded to draw with a felt tip everywhere, the carpets, stairs, wardrobe, curtains, bed, everywhere. I am at a loss, how do i punish with Father Christmas due tonight? He has no explanation as to why, i have taken away his favourite toy but it seems silly when he is due new toys tomorrow??

When I was about that age I was being a complete horror on Christmas Eve. I was told off but had very astutely figured out that Santa had already loaded his sleigh and it was too late for him not to visit.

Christmas morning there was a beautifully wrapped gift for me - it was a lump of coal and some ashes, plus a letter from Santa telling me he was very disappointed in my behaviour. I was really, really upset.

He visited again in the afternoon, leaving my gifts and a note to say he hoped I had learned my lesson.
