  • Yes I used them at Xmas to get a Samsung s2 with Tmoby. But have a look going via Quidco to get cashback. I should be getting £35, hopefully in May ! But I have had no problems so far.

Yes. Got one at Xmas for £20.42 with 300 mins, unlimited texts and data allowance. No upfront cost. Good service including sorting out a problem when tmobile charged for the free internet booster.

You don;t mention the most important element. Contract duration. If it is for 18 months or longer, it isn't worth it.

it is for 24 months. why wouldnt it be worth it? three are offering me as an existing customer, the same phone but with more mins etc than i actually need for £29 which is more than a new customer. so to me £21.50 is a good deal whichever way you look at it and i am more than happy to go on a 2 year deal which is what i have had with 3. do you know of a better deal that i could look at?

I've got 4 x Tesco mobile contracts for a family of 4 - all 24 months - all been great, 2 daughters never been over their limits. To me, this 18 v 24 month thing is for diehards, but, with this being a moneysaving site, fair play to them. I'm happy.

I got the family three Samsung Galaxy S2,s last October from Tesco, the service has been good but i felt let down when we went on holiday and the phones did not work,i found out we should have paid upfront before going, message retrieval costs extra and so does picture messages.
This was not advised at the time of purchase,i know it is my fault but i did ask about the use of the phones abroad because we are out of the uk a lot and was advised that would not be a problem AND WAS INCLUDED,

I spotted in the Metro yesterday HTC Wildfire on a 24 month contract £10/month for 100mins, 5000 texts and 500MB but I haven't been able to find it online.
I wanted to go through TCB as its offering £35 cashback, has anyone seen anything like this or what is the best wya to get this deal? TIA

It doesn't sound like a great deal tbh. I used to work in the mobile industry both for O2 in their call center, and for 3 mobile in their store.

I'm a current tesco mobile customer like other posters and have nothing but praise for them. They 'piggy-back' onto O2's service, so that's esentially who you are with when it comes down to signal etc. Their business model is based on older people, so they are very good at not bothering you, picking up in the call center straight away etc. They have far less customers than O2 so they have much less calls (from what I observed working near them in O2's call center).

Check online as well as instore, but as I'm sure you know, store bods have the ability and resources to offer ''special deals'' if they are not making their quota on the day. Haggle! They should be used to it and you'll end up with a good deal. In the beginning the handsets were a bit dated, but now they have upto date models, great customer service, AND you qualify for clubcard points too!

I'm a pay montly customer but was previous payg and have had a good service on both sides of the fence. The only downside is that the website billing login is very, very basic and can take a while to get your head around when trying to read you bill. Hope that helps a bit :)

You should be aware that sending pictures from an S2 uses data which could cost an arm and a leg. Smartphones also have a habit of updating certain apps whenever possible which is why there are so many postings on this site from people who have unwittingly run up huge data bills while abroad.

It is possible to arrange data packages in advance but the allowance can be quite low.

Think yourself lucky you didn't have a large bill on your return.
