Take the money and buy a pair of 3 year old Uggs on ebay

It is now down to you - do you think £60 is enough? The boots were 3 yrs old, after all. If you do, then put it towards some new ones as the old ones were probably a bit shabby by now.
If you don't, you ask for more money. If they were 3 years old but in as-new condition, this being their first outing since purchase, then I would be asking for more. I would have a figure in mind, and good justifications why it is that. For instance, photos of the lack of wear on the sole, that they weren't all stretched and soggy, no water staining, etc. And print-outs of the exact same brand/size etc with price. Then negotiate. If they were as-new, then the age is unimportant, they were as new. If they were lived in, then you work out what is reasonable, and demand that.
Here is where you and the shop will differ - they think £60, you think £190, the truth probably lies somewhere in that range (probably closer to £60 than £190, but unseen it is just a guess). Your case will be strenghtened with a professional valuation. If you decide £100 and not a penny less, they can either pay up, or let you kick off. Not in the shouty, embarrassing way, but with legal action. You file in small claims court for the £100 (the fee is about £30, but it gets added to the claim so you get it back if you win). Then the courts will decide.
Personally not sure I would bother with court, but then I wouldn't spend £190 on ugg boots. But certainly worth coming up with a counteroffer you are happier with, taking some evidence with you. They may back down when you put the fuller case with evidence of condition etc and offer a bit more just to get you out of their hair!0 -

Sorry to say it, but I wouldn't be happy wearing uggs that someone else had had their feet in for three years - the amount of sweat and stuff that accumulates in that lining over time, it's just not hygienic. It's like saying "we broke your toothbrush? Here's 10p to buy a second hand one"...0 -
As they are nearly 3 years old they are only offering £60 but I paid £160 and they sell now for £190, they said This is all they are worth as the sales of goods act says they can give less? I can't afford £130 more to buy a new pair when it wasn't my fault. They are ruined with oven cleaner acid as it leaked in the basket!!! So annoyed. What do I do? Thanks
This has nothing to do with the Sale of Goods Act.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Haven't you just answered your own question?
Kudos to you, because I couldn't even understand the question, let alone spot that the OP had already answered it. :huh:The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
