Very old mobile phones

I have a collection of old mobile phones that I want to get rid of. Don't want to just put them in the bin even though they're too old to sell. What can I do with them?

Donate them to a local nursery for the children to play with?0

They might be too old to sell via the phone recycling sites, but have a look on Ebay and see if anything similar is being sold.
There's quite a revival going on with really old phones - so as long as they still work and are in good condition, you might be able to make a few quid.0 -
http://www.therecyclingfactory.com/ take very old phones and recycle them for your chosen charity. For a freepost envelope for the NSPCC call 0800 091 0696.0

The market has moved on - 'real old' (i.e. pre-GSM) depending on model have an intrinsic value greater than first imagined (a Motorola 8000X can be worth £50 or more) but it won't work, as there is no analogue network for it to use. Charities only want phones that they can get value from, and this is no better than you trying to do the same thing yourself, but with these firms only wanting recent handsets, the bulk of them do not want phones that are older than 3 years, but much depends on the model.0
