Pre-regulation means that your complaint doesn't have to be considered and you have no access to FOS.
No point in posting about it every few months as nothing will change other than the names of the posters telling you that you have no recourse.
Time to forget this and move on...

Ive had a reply from legal and general accepting it is them responsible and they are going to give me a call regarding my complaint!
It was 6500 in 2006 over 23 years ive still got the mortgage account, but how do you work out the interest?
I was in the same position as you and made a missold PPi claim prior to the government cut-off date last year.  It would appear that there several financial organisations with a finger in my PPi pie and I keep being passed from pillar to post about who is responsible for the misselling.  E.g. Carrington Carr/AWS - Northern Rock/Virgin Money - D&D Homecare Ltd Mortgage & Payment Protection Scheme and finally Legal and General.

I note from your last post that Legal & General accepted that they were responsible.  May I ask whether they compensated you to your satisfaction please?

The poster in question logged off 8 years ago, never to return.

You'd probably have more luck contacting them with a ouija board.

prior to the government cut-off date last year.

There was no Government cut off.  It was a regulator cut off. The FCA is not Government.

    E.g. Carrington Carr/AWS - Northern Rock/Virgin Money

It is the seller that carries the liability.   Not the provider of the product unless the seller was an employee or agent of the provider.

So, Northern Rock and Virgin Money are not liable.

I note from your last post that Legal & General accepted that they were responsible.

Carrington Carr/AWS, from memory became agents of Legal & General at some point in time.   So L&G became liable if you were sold an L&G product.   They did not take on liability for sales made before they were agents of L&G.

The mortgage brokers were not regulated for insurance prior to January 2005. So, there is no-one to complain to on pre January 2005 sales
