I have neff appliances in a kitchen fitted about 18 months ago. All is fine except the oven which I have to say is total rubbish. I've had neff out twice who have washed their hands of the problem and said its 'normal' than an oven at 200 deg should average only 185 !

    See here for more details.
  • toylaw2 - Neff/Bosch are far superior to Gorenje. The 5-year warranty isn't a reflection of better quality.

A good indicator of quality and reliability if the cost to extend warranty. BSH are among the cheapest.

How does the Neff/Bosch brand compare with Gorenje brand? Our local Company says you only get 2 years warranty with Neff and Bosch whereas you get 5 years with Gorenje which do a more stylish and more value for money brand. Is this true? i dont want to go wrong.
I would advise NOT to go with Gorenje, yes you do get a five year warranty with them but the chances are you will need it!

Rejected our dishwasher from them after about 8 weeks, had about 1/2 dozen service engineers out to it, replaced various parts but still the problem remained. Oven has had engineer out due to hinges warping on oven door. Hob, again engineers out due to one of the knobs breaking(not knob itself but a connecting bit below the surface. Poor quality plastic containers in the fridge that crack with ease. Need I go on?
  • Neff now (6 months); Bosch in our last house (7 years) with very few issues.

If it's not too far (depending where in Wales you are) the John Lewis Outlet at the http://www.swindondesigneroutlet.com/ often has appliances marked down by at least 30-40%; they are either returns, ex-demo or end of line. We got our oven for £485 against list of £699.

I have Neff appliances in my kitchen & very happy with them. With the Neff ovens they have Circo Therm, which means your food cooks quicker than a standard fan oven, so is more energy efficient. There is no need to preheat the oven either.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

We've just moved out a falt that had a Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Hob, Oven and Washer\drier all fitted appliances by Neff. The only break down in 14 years was the thermal cutout on teh washer drier.
If you can afford it the improived build in premium white goods will pay dividends.
In our new house we've gone Bosch as we didn't need fitted and we're on more of a budget just now.

Got all Bosch here except for the cooker hood, got a cheapo one which looks the exact same as a Bosch. This was on the advice of a lot of tradesmen I know pretty well, they all said the same thing.
  • Thanks a lot for all the input. No real horror stories, so will probably go with Bosch. The prices I'm being given are actually better than I can find online. The Neff 'partner' prices are a different story. With just a few clicks I found cheaper prices online.

Seems like each Kitchen company makes their profit on different elements of the total cost. The Bosch partner's cabinet prices are quite a bit higher! Time for some haggling. Wish us luck

ive got neff fridge, freezer, dishwasher (been repaired on warranty once), single oven, combi oven (dont think its worth the expense), hood, induction hob (love it!)

neff customer service was rubbish when i called them about the dishwasher, but we've got it sorted now. apart from that, its all good stuff

Yes, I'll second that, BSH service IS rubbish. Parts are no better either! One of their engineers told me that most of the programme modules and many other parts are now sourced from China ,cos they're cheaper, and that they often have problems which require them to fit a second or third module before they get one which actually works! We're going through just this scenario presently, and are fed up with BSH, engineers who diagnose a fault, send for parts they don't have on the van, a different engineer comes to fit the parts which don't work, diagnose other faults, then have to order further parts. Eight weeks, four different engineer visits, last one cocked it up completely, as now machine doesn't work at all, whereas previously it did work most of the time! After next visit, if it's still not working properly, I intend to reject the machine as not fit for purpose, and have told BSH Customer Liaison so already. We don't think the 2 year warranty is worth the paper it's printed on, and if this machine DOES last out the warranty, then the next time it goes 'up the swannee', it'll be out of the door! We paid around £2500 for 5 Neff appliances, and BSH don't give a monkeys about service, so that'll be the last time we ever buy anything made by this group! BSH service IS rubbish, and their dishwashers are no better, if as good as the Italian brands, certainly not worth the premium prices BSH charge!
  • We had a recent need to deal with Siemens customer service (same group?) and they were excellent. They had to order the part from Germany but kept us informed.
