Does anyone know anything about Free.fr and using it while in holiday in France since it is contract free? http://mobile.free.fr/
If I've read this correctly. It's possible to get a month's worth without a contract for 19.99 euros inclusive of unlimited internet, calls within France and to landlines in the UK etc etc.
Does one need an address in France to get a sim card? Is it possible to buy the Free.fr sim in a shop?
Thanks!

I think that DUTR has just used Google Translate on the T&Cs - not difficult but it doesn't answer the OP's question.
Try to understand the terminology commonly used by the French networks:- "SANS ENGAGEMENT", e.g. the one you've seen, means a 1-month SIM-only contract (without commitment), i.e. still requires an address in France and probably a credit check of some sort.
- "FORFAIT BLOQUÉ" means a contract with a provided handset and a long term contract.
- "CARTE PRÉPAYÉE" means a pay-as-you-go SIM card, probably the only option available to a non-resident.

Thats not accurately true, you are a resident of Europe & thus can apply for sans engagement and your UK address can be taken aswell as a hotel address for France - a full contract will probably be refused as no history , but month to month sim is a minimal risk over a handset x month contract, I know someone in France from UK did SANS for 6 months then was allowed a proper contract.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Yes, very feasible, but it would be hard without a French address and French bank account. The OP is going there on holiday.
Yes, this is what I was wondering. I can only ask and see what they say as we're all meant to be in the EU together now ... But if anyone has tried this before I'd love to know!
Aha! I'm editing this cos I've just found the "Conditions Generales Abonnement" at http://mobiles.free.fr/docs/Conditions_Generales_Abonnement
I think they do have shops but it is necessary to give banking details, although one can pay by debit card.

The two types: the 19.99 and the 2 Euros per month. Am I right in thinking this has an internet and calling abroad option as well? My Technical Mobile speak French is virtually non existent ...
If anyone could help, I would be very grateful.
I can't find anywhere which lists the reseau de points de ventes either.0 -
The €20/month deal gives you unlimited calls and texts within France and unlimited calls to UK fixed lines. The €2/month deal only gives you 60 minutes and texts per month within France. The more prominent lower prices apply if you have their Freebox home broadband service.
Phone them on +33 1 78 56 95 60 to find out how you can become a customer. If they don't speak English, they might be able to find a colleague who does.0 -

Hi, I tried phoning and got recorded message (in French) that was too fast for me to understand. I am very keen to get this package as I spend about 3 months in France most years so would like to know best way to purchase. I would prefer not to open French bank account.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
