Gas tumble dryer
We have decided to change our oil heating to gas and I asked about getting the pipework done at same time in the event we have to buy a new tumble dryer in the future and we would have the option of a gas one.
Now I am not so sure
Can anyone who has one answer a few questions for me please.
I know they need to be installed by a qualified fitter, that's fine but do they need serviced regularly like the boilever?
Are gas TD reliable? We currently have a Miele dryer and it is 10 years old, have had one problem in that time and hubby got the part and fitted it himself.
Installer coming monday night to finalise things and need to tell him then if we want the pipework done,
thanks

Gas tumble drier all the way, only ones I ever see are white knights, keep the filter clean of lint and you will rarely have a problem but you will have a much reduced electricity bill!0

I remember my mum had a gas fridge.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -

I'm a gasman but I have only ever done standard cleaning on it, never anything technical on mine.0

Hi: we've had a full size Whirlpool gas dryer for 10+ years....comes in very handy on these rainy days. Bought it at a shop in Surrey that specialises in North American sized appliances. It will run on mains gas and LPG. It does require an annual service.

Every one i've come across the owner has sworn by it, they seem to last for years too.0

Gas TD's are vented only, not condensers, so you may have to arrange to vent externally-a possible extra cost. Obviously very much cheaper to run (about a third of the cost), but it may take you a few years to get the extra purchase and install cost back. Depends on how often you use it.
I'd say yes (subject to the above) if you can have the supply run at minimal extra cost while other work is being done.
The White Knights are reliable. Your Miele is too, but after 10 years even that may not go on too much longer without further expenditure.
So worth having the supply put in now for the time when the Miele expires. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
