Oh, I have no doubt you're correct; but I'd like to hear them SAY so

Also, if they dropped the interest rates rather than raised them, perhaps I'd be inclined to actually use the card again... after all, it doesn't make them any more money for me to have zero balance at 23% than it does for me to have zero balance at 18%!

I had a notification two hours ago that there's a new secure message for me - presumably a response to that there letter - but I haven't been able to get to it because of the aforementioned goosedness! And I was so looking forward to putting their reply here :A
