I've not been too well over the past few days (kidney infection) and isn't it amazing that everyone non-vegan feels the need to say, "Is that because you're vegan?"

Yeah, all this fruit, veg and healthy eating is just killing me!!!!

LOL I must be lucky, I've not experienced that yet despite a killer virus since Nov..........but then there's SO many ill meat eaters at work it just wouldn't work saying it to me :rotfl::rotfl:

I've got quite a few vegan bread recipes on my blog than can be adapted to gluten-free. Any questions, feel free to ask.

    Best wishes, Paul
*thinks, ahhh see, knew he'd be useful* :D:D What do you teach Paul??

Re the pizza toppings, some of the raw vegan nut 'cheezes' are tasty, cook the base, then spread on after and add anything else you want like spinach, basil, olives, fake meats, sweetcorn etc.

Ahh hence the username :D LOL in a way I teach my hobby I guess, sport and also nutrition, but unfortunately I sometimes have to teach some aspects that I don't consider a hobby like health and safety *shudders* :(

Actually I did get involved in a panacake debate but that was on Volentia ;) Would be good if you could post your recipe because I wasn't wholly convinced by the recipe I used........although it could have been down to my tecnique I guess :o

Talking of recipes, do you have any fool proof vegan breads without yeast?? Oh and out of interest where you do you source your gluten flour for seitan?

    TIA ;)

Thanks Paul, I got mine slightly cheaper than that when you consider the P&P in the total price. Wondering if bakeries can get it cheaper??

Yeah lesson plans are driving me mad at the mo, just my luck to have to teach two completely new units at a moments notice!!!:mad: And I'll do all this work and next year probably won't get to teach them again and have to start all over again :(

Oh, I'll have to try some of these recipes myself! (Now I'm more confident about cooking, baking is my next step!)

Had another moronic comment today that has led to me being raging. I had the responsibility of organising a team away day. It's all organised as we are taking a day away across the border, and I've organised a tour of a sports stadium which their Operations Manager is going to do for us so we can see how they organise H & S on matchday and things, and I took a vote from everyone on the food that they wanted. So, restaurant booked too. Sorted. Well, kind of. Got one numptyish comment from someone that he would go only if he didn't have to eat lettuce leaves and can feast on dead carcasses and sup real ale.

The long and the short of it is, I'm not going to the event I organised as I am raging. I put time and effort in to trying to organise something people can genuinely enjoy, and the best someone can come up with is to take a cheap shot at the 'office vegan' who organised it. Stuff it, it just wasn't worth the time and effort.

And yes, I am in a huff LOL!!!

Awww but then you've let them win and get to you BB :( If they wanted something else then they should've stepped up and organised it!!!

Sad thing is that my colleague will think he's being funny with a comment like that

My experience with organising buffets, etc, is that the veggie/vegan stuff goes first. I once persuaded the department I was working in that 50% of a buffet should be veggie/vegan - and that the v/vs should have first pick!

(Just picking at some left-over chilli non carne made with fried seitan - I can't leave it alone!)

    Cheers, Paul
OMG I thought that only happened to me :rotfl::rotfl:But to be fair I can't complain really because when I was a meat eater I used to eat the veg*n options too, on the account of the meat being so overly processed and not sure where it's coming from etc etc :o I wasn't the only one doing it either, so yeah I think you're right that they should offer more of it.
I've had more than a few trying to taste the baklava I take in at times!
LOL I get that a lot with foods I take in, my team are always interested in what I'm eating bless them, especially when I take in raw creations ;) It's the same with the buffet type situation, if you have a plate especially created for you (which I'm not always comfortable about because it immediately puts you under the microscope :o ) whether vegan or and intolerance, everyone wants to know what you've got and what it tastes like :rotfl::rotfl:

Well if you are happier not going then so be it, but I wouldn't personally let one numpty ruin it for me, I'd go along and be louder than normal and pick him to pieces through humour, especially as he won't be able to respond so quickly while he's laden with meat and beer ;);) :rotfl::rotfl:

The ironic thing is that I was happy to take my own food and leave them to their lunch if there was nothing vegan friendly on the menu. At no point did I insist, "We must all eat vegan" or anything like that. Their choice is their choice, my choice is a very personal one for me that I opt not to inflict upon other people. I'm not in any sense evangelical about veganism, I'll tell people what I am and if they choose to ask for further details, I'll tell them. If they want to know the benefits I feel, I'll tell them, but I would NEVER say to anyone else, "You must all be like me, or else".

An incredibly crass comment which showed no awareness of how it would be construed, and incredibly ignorant if the opinion is that I survive on lettuce and fresh air. I'm built like an ox so hardly a malnourished wee flower of a person!!!!

Poo, eh? Anyhow, I'm away to feast on my cous cous, stir fried veg and follow it up with some carrot cake!
