Hey everyone, great to see you all here
Has anyone seen this site http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/ great site for vegan parents and generally really sweet lil site
The laptop lunch box's can be bought from here http://www.laptoplunches.co.uk/products.html I'm thinking of ordering one to encourage me to get my 5 a day.
Because of migraines I've just went wheat & chocolate free *gulps*, I'm already yeast free (apart from redwoods stuff). Means I'll have to reduce my redwoods addiction though and no more chocci swedish glace  I'll staaaaaaaaaaaarve!

Nice to see other veggies & vegans. Thanks for the links. I missed the show saying that vegans leave less carbon prints- it would be intereasting to know that by being vegan or veggie we were helpoing the enviroment too. I went veggie because I couldnt stand the idea of eating animals ( that was 28 years ago ). I then became vegan about 2/3 years ago because I was becoming ill ( have ME) and never liked fish or eggs anyway. I find its harder being vegan in this country and abroad they are much more adventerous with their food. People seem to think if you dont eat meat or cheese your insane- nope just health !0

Why do people turn Vegan or Vegterian and then spend their time eating dishes that are made to taste and look like a non vegetarian dish... Tofu Sheppards pie, bacon flavoured tofu etc? Why not eat the real version but ensure you make it using fresh, local grown produce and the meat from a source you know to be good where the animals well looked after.
Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with someone being vegan, it just strikes me as strange that someone can declar themselves vegan and then spend time trying to recreate the flavour/texture of none vegan meals. Surley there are lots of Vegan dishes in their own right.
I expect my thoughts here may upset a few people, dont be upset! educate me!0 -
Btw I haven't put this thread here to debate about veganism, if you don't agree with it put yer own d@mn thread up
Like I've already stated, I'd appreciate it if you'd start your own thread up debating veganism rather than turn this one into a flame festThe stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
Vegan & proud of it. I've been a vegan for over 10 years have since had 2 very healthy pregnancies & large babies who I fed myself. Also run 4 marathons and in training to do my 5th next month. Gone are the days where vegans are considered pale, skinny lentil munchers!0

Welcome essbee & scrummymummy
Have you ever seen the vegan body builders forum scrummy? I think they cover other sports on it too. Hubby's a veggie who runs, plays football & does weights. He's the fittest person I know (in more ways than one).
