We are looking into purchasing a home which has Calor gas bottles 3 x 47KG having read various forum it sounds like this is a pricey fuel option to run the radiators and hot water!
We were considering buying a new Combi boiler to make the heating more energy efficient . Does anyone have any advice for us on whether this is worth doing?
Also to help us keep the cost at a reasonable level , can anyone recommend alternative ways of heating , hot water and rads ?
Does anyone have experience of these pellet range style boilers?
The property does have a large wood burning stove already.
All aspects of the above heating are all new to us, so any pointers or suggestions would be gratefully received.
Many thanks

I looked into the pellet boilers and found one for 2.5k but with the cost of installation it reached nearer 9k.
LPG and oil are similar prices at the moment but it seems there is still a slight edge for oil as it is easier to choose a supplier.
You could just swap the bottles for a larger tank which would reduce costs.
Or if you don't need heating on a timer, go with a log burner with a back boiler.Nice to save.0
