ASDA TCP Fine should i ignore 13th day

Hi
I have read may of the posts on here and understand that with these Parking Charge notices issued at various car parks should be ignored until they leave you alone.
I unfortunately received a ticket 13 days ago for parking in a HIGH SIDED VEHICLE Bay, I was parked for 40 mins spending over £90 and came back to see a ticket on the window.
The signs showing this were located behind a Van parked 2 spaces from me.
I have never heard of this type of bay and there were no indications of min height etc.
I stormed back into ASDA asking for an explanation where i also met another elderly couple who also had been served a ticket for same reason. I demanded to speak to manager who then eventually came outside where i showed him the problem, he agreed with me but said he could do nothing.
Ironically later that day i had to go back to the store by foot to pick up something i had forgotten and i walked past another lady who had been caught in this bay also arguing with the manager.
They directed me to appeal online - i have not done this after reading the posts.
So please tell me given the reason i have received a ticket should i pay?
Most of the threads detail times where time has lapsed but not this type of supposed fine by TCP.
Please help as i dont want to pay more than £30 if i have to (14 day kick in the b**ls discount)

Never mind the reason on the ticket. Who cares? It's not a real fine at all.
It's a scam. Do not pay! Complain in writing to Asda though. If it's that common how about telling the local press?
Read Stephen Leak's reply on this thread which explains all:

DO NOT TAKE THE FAKE PCN SERIOUSLY! READ ALSO THE SECOND TO TOP THREAD WITH THE LETTER CHAIN PICS AND WATCHDOG CLIP!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The only thing you should have done is taken the Shopping back and made then refund it all.
ASDA are in on this scam up to their nostrils .
Now the Good news, the law is on your side and this is a scam that impersonates authority, if you ignore all you will get a lots of silly letters and more silly letters pretending to be from debt collectors and solicitors making demands and deadlines of court action that never arrive, again all as fake as the ticket they gave you.
Then they give up.
But as ASDA have made it quite clear they do not want your custom, please oblige them and find a supermarket that does not run a fake parking ticket scam in the car park.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Why does that make it any different from all the other tickets about which you have read, and know how to handle? It doesn't, and should be ignored, just like all the rest.vinceremedy wrote: »Hi

PS , I would not bother complaining, they know what they are doing is legally wrong, they dont care, the only time they will care is when some suit wonders why the stores are loosing money, to which the answer will be.
You lay with dogs, you get fleas.
, So do your bit and shop elsewhere.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Do the debt collectors ever try and turn up at your door? I have 2 young daughters and partner at home and i would hate to think what i would do should someone turn up one day.
Should i write to ASDA?
Also i took a picture on the day to illustrate my point, showing how impossible it was to read the closest of the 2 signs with the van in front.
Have they ever taken someone to court???0 -

Oh stopppppit please, you haven't read our replies properly and can't possibly have clicked on the link I gave or looked at the other thread I mentioned!
I have four kids myself and I am just an ordinary woman - I ignored one and laughed at it when I saw it on my car in a supermarket car park.
No they can't 'send the boys round', don't take this SCAM so seriously!
Look at the links and the second to top thread, check out the letter-chains, watch the Watchdog clip then come back if it's still unclear that this isn't even a fine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

yes and lost all 3 times, they gave up after that.
If you want twice as much harassment, then go ahead and write, it will save them the effort of working out if they have you hooked or not.
Any debt collectors that do turn up and I certainly have never heard of it, would be trespass as you dont have a debt to collect, you dont "owe" them anything, all you have is an invitation to pay an invoice they have sent you, they have no legal power to fine you.
But if you are thinking of paying in hope it will go away, just be warned they come back for more money, again and again once they hit a mug.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

No, Vince, no-one does anything at all, other than write you a series of asinine letters that you can safely ignore. No-one turns up at your door, there is no Court, no bailiffs, no entry on your credit file... ALL of it is Bullsh*t designed with but one purpose, to frighten you into paying.
It doesn't matter what the ticket was for, if issued by a private company (like TCP) on private land (like the Asda car park) then it has NO VALIDITY whatsoever.
Asda are lying to you. TCP is their agent, not their master! And they (Asda) are fully responsible. If that's their attitude (Not me, guv) then shop elsewhere.
All you have to do to see this attempted scam off is to stick about five letters in the bin. After that, they realise you weren't a mug and save themselves the postage.
You will never hear from them again, guaranteed. Hundreds of thousands of the switched-on give the scammers the V-sign every year. Join them.0 -

OK OK Ill man up today and wait for the letters to start coming in. I'm going one better at ASDA, I am going to complain about something i have bought every week and make their lives hell!
I cant believe they treat people this way especially as i spend roughly £4-5K a year with them.
CAn anyone suggest a bettr place to shop?0
