I'm talking about forty years ago now. . . .
If our daughers instead of settling down when in bed, they kept making a noise they were given one warning. If it persisted I went up but they each blamed the other, so my tactic was to give them both a wap through the bedding and telling them I'd got the right one.
We couldn't afford to buy two lots of chips for them so they learned to share. One divided them into two portions but the other had the first chose of which lot to take so never had any complaints whether one or the other had more.;)

If they are fighting between themselves, leave them to it. When ours were about the same age as yours they were quite appalling on occasions but only ever at home.

My wife always used to say she could take them to tea with the Queen and they would be a credit to us. But, within our own four walls there was a regular testing of boundaries.

Set the ground rules for their behaviour, enforce transgressions (grounding, removing privileges etc) above all show a united front when dealing with them. You and your wife need to discuss calmly and privately that you will back each other completely. If either of you disagrees with any course of action the other is taking you must not say so in front of the kids, you will just make matters worse. Good luck.
