VirginMedia

So a few things here,
1) I'm moving soon and Virgin can only provide ADSL
2) The virgin TIVO service that I have had for the past 10 months is still awful and promises of bits being fixed have not been depite me asking a number of times.

I know neither of these are really a reason to cancel but I did send a letter to cancel when they changed their prices (I sent within 1 month of my first increased bill) and I had no response.

I therefore sent another one recorded and have heard nothing yet which is disappointing.

Upon talking to Virgin wanting to cancel as i'm moving and they can't provide me the TV they stated that i'd have to pay a cancellation fee for the remaining months (boo hiss boo but I understand why).

I do remember someone before stating that there was a £4 a month "closing down" contract (or words to that effect) but I couldn't find it anywhere so I think I must of misread it, if anyone knows that would be great!

I am unlikely to receive a response before moving so I have a few options:
1) I move my services to the next location (but they say this starts a new contract? (if so can I not cancel then within 30 days if it's a new contract?)
2) I could try and ask them to open the new contract in a flat mates name, then get them to cancel within 30 days (so a bit like option 1 but a bit further apart)
3) I could cancel and pay the charge and hope I get the refund from Virgin when they reply to my complaint about wanting to cancel within 30 days of the change of cost (as per their contract) but I doubt i'll get one.

If I move my new services then I have not got rid of Virgin (my ideal situation).

Any suggestions as to what the best approach for this is ? I'd like to get Virgin out of my life if possible.
