I have been on holiday this week, so been subjected to some day time tv, and have watched the above programme.
Basically, for those that have not watched it, it is Dominic Littlewood fighting for consumer rights. I think it might be worth while asking everyone that comes to these boards, asking for help (with ppc's) to email him also, especially those with blue badge issues. If enough people complain, he might do a programme on it?
Thoughts?

The last time Dom did a piece on PPCs, a couple of years ago, it was a shockingly shoddy piece of poorly-researched journalism, in which he referred to their charges as "fines", said that they could charge what they liked, advised consumers to pay then appeal, or go to the CAB for advice
One can only hope that his colleagues in the Watchdog team have put him straight on these issues.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Ah, never realised they had already done a programme on them. I usually work during the day, but with guidance from some of the more knowledgeable posters on here or pepipoo.0

I saw one he did when he got some bigwig in charge of the DVLA on the spot about releasing data to PPCs, and the DVLA bloke pointed out the 'reasonable cause ' wording on the forms, to which Dom effectively replied 'Ah, that's alright then' and left it at that.
He's a toothless dwarf.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
So he's an ignorant plonker then. Hope he gets "done" by one of the PPCs, follows his own advice, and pays up. At least he can afford it.0

TV production companies don't care about anything other than ratings and profits.
These programmes are nothing more than entertainment and, personally, I don't think we should be party to turning the victims' harassment and distress into this.
IMHO "Watchdog" cannot be trusted. I was with BT at the time of the Barry Cryer "adult entertainment" calls case and they used information, which they knew to be inaccurate, because it made a better story than the truth. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Placing stories with TV companies should not be seen as a means of solving a problem but simply of raising the profile of it. As S_L so rightly says media companies are focussed on securing ratings and therefore the producers/presenters next pay cheque(s) rather than actually addressing issues. If they can get a result (usually for a single case) then that's a bonus. Should anyone here think otherwise then, with respect, they are sadly deluding themselves.
That is not to suggest that such companies do not have their uses.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

I've just found this from a previous time he covered PPCs https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/20538090 -
