Why's your other half not on the mortgage application?

Because there's no need for her to be on it. She has only been in her employment a very short time so wouldn't have been any advantage to the mortgage application anyway. The building society are however aware that she will be living at the property.

Haven't got any kids but I don't know. Worth checking with mortgage advisor though. Thanks.

After a loooong wait, I phoned Leeds Building Society late this afternoon and they confirmed over the phone that they are now willing to lend the full amount I need in order to buy our house. They did say it's subject to the underwriter looking at the memorandum of sale that was sent over to them yesterday but definately a positive move forward :D

Glad you got there in the end gaz. It's not easy to get a mortgage at the moment, especially at the levels you were looking at. Have a great weekend
