Just thought I would update this thread:

I am still not having much fun with walking my two separate - they still bark at other dogs but it's usually dogs that are protecting their own territory and mine are barking back.

However, my two are now getting used to Poppy (the shih zu pup). They always play chase - my two chase Poppy and then Poppy chases them. They seem a little scared of her when she barks at them but they don't growl or go for her just follow her every move until she chases after them :)

Marley thinks he's a cat - he always jumps on the back of the sofa when he's a bit unsure.

I used to show a treat to my dog and it'd work most of the time providing I spotted the other dog before he did! He'll sometimes bark at other dogs now, mostly when he's annoyed because you've just told him to put something down that he shouldn't have. Like, he'll pick up a bit of rubbish and I go 'Put it down.' and he'll begrudgingly spit it out and bark at the next car or dog or whatever he sees just to vent his anger. Weird dog :)

Oh, I sometimes think they're just talking too? Like, my dog's got a 'playful' bark and an 'I'm going to eat you' bark. If you try and figure out which it is, it may be easier to prevent them from doing it.

Lovely pictures by the way - I especially like Marley, he looks like he's a character! :)

Charlie (on the right in photo's) is the worst for barking at other dogs when we are out. As I said, it's usually only at dogs that are barking in their own garden. Charlie's bark is like a fighting bark, he think's he's so big. Whereas Marleys bark is more like a shouting/playful bark.

The dogs around my area all bark and chase along the fence when dogs walk past, the same as my two do when they are in their own garden. I have tried treats but Charlie is more interested in the other dogs. They both go wild when dogs pass our garden, I have never seen Yorkie's jump so high to try and get over the fence.

When I first got Charlie and Marley, everyone loved Charlie as he was the cute fluffy one (and always was the little barker) now they all love Marley as he is a character - so funny. Charlie will only go to me but Marley will go to anyone, he really is daft as a brush.

As for Poppy, she is a little 'angry bird' as I named her - she is really hard work as always biting in an aggressive way too (no wonder my two are still a little unsure at times). She needs taming but that's not my job, I only dog sit her once a week :) I think she is going to be the boss though!
