I've just had a text message from T-Mobile about PAYG price changes from June.
According to their website my call charges will increase by 20% and my text messages by 25%.
Nice to know that we're all in it together!

How much do you spend on average per month? It may be worth looking at a cheap sim only. If you don't spend much, maybe you'd be better off looking at GiffGaff or another PAYG provider?0

They are improving some of the inclusive boosters that you get when topping up, and increasing further charges for chargable stuff.

A £10 top up will get you either unlimited texts, Blackberry access, 100 minutes or 75 international minutes.
However, on the text or blackberry plan the cost of calls will be 30p per minute.
Just like changes at Orange, they are also introducing boosted rewards at the £15 top up level - in this case 500MB of downloading data, and unlimited browsing and email.
T-mobile basically only want people that are looking top up a minimum of £10 each month, and ideally encourage most of these to top up with at least £15. Everyone else can go jump.
If you are a low user, switch to icardmobile for cheap and cheerful pricing - 3p/min landlines, 6p/min mobiles, 5p/text. icardmobile offers FREE voicemail, it is 30p/min on some T-mobile PAYG tariffs.0 -

I fall into this category as I top-up £10 every 6-8 weeks,and make more texts than calls. There doesn’t seem any other justification for an inflation busting 20% increase in call charges.
Thanks for the suggestions. At least I’ve got another month to make up my mind!0 -

most likely people who spend an average of £5 a month cost too much in administration...there's little money in that market, so they, naturally push you to greater spend.0 -
Orange extras on a £5 top-up are good valueSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

A while ago I signed up to T-mobile's (very good value) "Text and internet reward". I still have the original blurb they sent me when they posted me the SIM.
On this it clearly states "Top up by £10 every month to get unlimited texts and internet for life".
You can't get much clearer than that.
Today they sent me a text that said "...from 6 June we're introducing some price changes that will affect your current plan" - when I follow the link it seems I will no longer get unlimited internet (it will be capped at 500MB) and they're increasing the price by 50% to £15 per month.
Seems to me that they are in breach of their contract. Plan to contact the ombudsman if they don't get back to me by the end of this week.0 -

lol good luck with that. Somewhere in the terms and conditions it will say they just have to give you 30 days notice to change it.0 -
Maybe the original ad should just have said;
"Top up by £10 every month to get unlimited texts and internet for life"*
*Except that's a lie, we won't really give you that, and we've got some good lawyers to make sure we don't have to.0 -

Hello all,
I have just seen the above ad on the TV - here it is on YouTube;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhRCuVMBcm0
and facebook;
https://www.facebook.com/tmobileuk/app_207661429351989
I would be interested to hear just how long exactly T-mobile thinks "forever" is.
They launched a similiar campaign a few years back and it turned out that "for life" actually meant about 3 years;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z11vlAN4uBo
...as they have recently sent all customers that they promised this to a text saying they'll no longer get the free unlimited internet part of this deal.
If you are interested in how T-mobile can get away with using terms like "for life" and "forever" when this is clearly not true, then why not pay this site a short visit;

Just a thought!
