    Hi DFW,
I haven't been on here in ages, life takes over sometimes!

I am delighted to read your great news!!! That is wonderful. :j :j It looks like life is falling into place for you and your family at last. I look forward to reading that you've had all your offers accepted and paid off.

You deserve it. I found great motivation, inspiration and help from you and your thread since I joined on here last year and its great to see you so close to the end of your DFW journey. :T :T :T

Have you thought of a new name - the one you have will soon be irrelevant :D

  • Just a quick-ish post as it's late (well 10pm is late for me :p)

    So will summarise:

    MSE points: :money:
*I sold another item of furniture today, only our smallest bit so £25 (half of which goes to friend)
*Listed some bits out of garage from last summer (kids old toys) Should have £30 tomorrow for the large item as that's sold, other bits still on there (FB)
*Listed some of DD's old clothes £10 to me tomorrow
*Cheapish day today we went to a local beauty spot and paddled in river, had a picnic. I paid for ice creams and also an hour in a boat though so £25 for the day. Next time we go it will be cheaper as we aren't going on the boats again we were awful at rowing :eek:
*done lots of washing and all dried within minutes outside :T
*stepchange sent a letter saying they had the money and were sending letters out to creditors with offers :j fingers crossed....

    Not so MSE::o
*DH bought me an e-reader/tablet :T:T not mse but i love it :o:D he had a few hundred kept back from inheritance so bought it for me :A
*he also bought himself a replacement wedding ring. He lost the last one in 2009 in Afghan and we've not had money to replace it since :(
*We went to the armed forces day yesterday and spent £28 on food / drinks/ ice-creams :eek: we left before we got to the funfair rides as I just couldn't bare parting with any more money. This was only £3 more than spent today but I feel we got more value for money today!!! Hence why this is here and today's excursions are in the other list!

I'm sure there is more but it is past my bedtime. Plus i'm sunburnt and in a little pain :rotfl: I know my fault....! So will say adios for now!

  • Sounds as though you had a wonderful weekend, spending lots of quality time with your family.

Hopefully your creditors will except quickly and you will be debt free :j.

Very sweet your hubby replacing his wedding ring;), some men wouldn't bother.

  • Hi debtfreewannabe321 - gosh! i'm so far behind on catching up on your thread!

Congrats with the inheritance!! I hope you manage to convince the b*stard creditors to accept full and finals! :) Gosh the idea of being debt free is so alien to me - I suppose it's all about the willpower to stay debtfree!!! does that mean you'll be leaving us all on the wannabee board?! :(

Well done on sending the OH shopping!! I'm currently prepping my mealplans thinking 'i'd love some help with all my MSE-ing!! Fingers crossed, fingers crossed - maybe your DH could start MoneySaving for Hubbies as a weekend masterclass and I'll send my OH to him for training!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

  • Goodness, I hadnt thought of that, you might "do a gargrave" an scarcely return!

Hope you hear some good news soon :)
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Evening all :j

I wouldn't do a gagrave and leave you all :rotfl: I haven't moved/got any plans to move to Aussie unfortunately ;):rotfl: I bet if I did I also would be too busy in the sun to bother with the internet much :p

Not a nsd today :( had to buy food. Did make £40 though :money: so not a complete loss. Also cooked banana and raisin loaf, bread and joint of ham (to slice) for the week :) and loving the weather so much hence I've not been checking in here very often :o:cool:

Hope everyone is ok and I will try and catch up with your diaries soon :T

  • Nsd number 2 today am way behind where I should be :o !!! On up side I'm onto target number 2 now for my emergency funds :T I've reached 500 so am now aiming for 1,000 :j it currently stands at 577.76/1000 so only 422.24 to find ( if my mental arithmetic is right!) Easy peasy right......if nothing breaks that is ;)

    Debt-free and Proud!
Fab news DFW... All good hey and here are you saving emergency funds. Fabulous.

My OH lost his wedding ring too...on a flight. It was always fairly loose.. he liked it that way so was only a matter of time, in retrospect:o He was so upset. I did have £250 saved towards a replacement but when we had our joint LBM :D we decided to put it against the dreaded cards. He is keen to get a new one ASAP though:D so when we get to the DFD that's the first thing we will buy :T
