Just had Vfast installing a wireless antenna on our house (rural village location) and it has taken our internet speed from 1.2 Mb down and 0.2 Mb up (with Sky so-called unlimited) to 15 Mb download + 2 Mb upload. It is capped at this but could go up to 26 Mb down if we paid the higher amount.

It is a big jump in price for us from £7.50/month for Sky to £24.99/month for Vfast, but with 5 demanding internet users in the house and me running my own business, I think it is going to be good value for us.

That sounds about same price we pay to ineedbroadband.co.uk but they also offer an option to have a VoIP line for telephone services at £5 a month so we have done away with landline which saved us £15 or thereabouts a month so only really worked out a few pounds more a month

We have been really impressed about the service and it has stood up to all of the bad weather we have had recently without faltering once.

What surprises me is that these services seem to be hidden away and you have to be lucky to get them, we are only 8miles from Nottingham but there are developing countries with faster broadband than we had and there was no realistic prospect of fibre, it does make me wonder why they don't put more money into the technology rather than giving to BT and the like, it seems that this system can access more people efficiently, reliabily and at relatively low cost

Also have started process to ditch sky, have hooked up laptop in short term and now streaming movies from lovefilm on to the tv, that would have been impossible with talktalk connection, so saved a bit of cash there also
