Icefall I spotted this on CAG website a few weeks ago signed and sent off the petition as directed. But my ears pricked up again when I heard it on the news this morning. We need to get Martin interested in this one to give it sum weight.
Well spotted by you as I only came across it by chance.

Actually I was talking to the Lib Dem MP Vince Cable about this a fortnight ago and we were meant to get in touch to discuss ways to fight it (we were debating at the economic research council). I've only scant knowledge at the moment - but the provisions don't seem good.
Sadly I dont think the petition is drafted as well as it could be. I do intend to take a look this week (though bank charges is really taking time at the moment)

Basically I Understand It To Be You Have Been To Court Made An Arrangement To Pay , You Dont Bailiffs Come After Court Gives Permision Now Not As Before (they Wanted You To Think They Had This Power)they Break In To Your House With The Backing Of The Law Am I Right In Thinking This ?.
Now Why I Cant See This Going Through Every House Holder Has The Right To Protect There Property If The Bailiff Is Cought Kicking The Door In You Smack Him With A Hammer Thinking He Is An Intruder Becouse He Isnt Quick Enough To Say Who He Is Think Of The Fuss This Would Cause ? I Cant See It Going Through And It Would Be A Brave Bailiff Who Would Do It .0 -

Just found an older BBC article here
New powers for bailiffs may be at risk of contravening human rights laws, a committee of MPs and peers has warned.

OH and I have signed it.
Only this government could encourage the banks to lend recklessly, assist employers to keep wages low, allow house proces to rocket...............and then help baliffs to batter their way into homes to persecute those that have got into financial trouble.
Lin :rolleyes:You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
Thanks to all that have signed so far spread the word and the links.
