Ok,
I'm not going to bore you, but can someone please tell me how to complain about the service I have received or should I say LACK of service from Comet.
Their web site is not helpful and nor is their staff when you mention the word "COMPLAINT"
Thanks
G.

It depends what the issue is really, and what resolution you'd like.
There are so many possible answers, a brief outline of the problem would help.0 -
You're on a consumer rights site. Tales of consumer rights problems won't bore people who come on here. There wouldn't be much point in visiting otherwise!

So, we (the football club I work at) bought a washing machine from comet's online shop.
When they finally delivered it, Thats another story, the thing leaked and it took them a week to replace it.
Various calls were made and even though I kept names etc, they all denied having anything to do with and blamed someone else.
3 weeks ago, the washing machine stopped working, we couldn't open the door and an engineer came out, he ordered parts(a new pump and door lock) said they would take a week.
10 days later, nothing so a call was made and comet said the parts were not in stock and couldn't chase the manufacturer for 2 weeks!
Today, an engineer turned up, wrong parts in tow, said he would have to order more parts and this would take 2 weeks!!!
So, we have had the machine for 3 months and not been able to use it for one month, on and off.
Can't speak to anyone at comet, emails get rejected and all in all its a shocking service, and I shall NEVER buy anything from them again.
What do I do about the machine?

Same problem with us.
They do not respond to anything , they are useless , you are wasting your time.
They will not replace our 4 month old washing machine and will only repair it at their convenience and we have been waiting over 6 weeks now.
The only way I can get a replacement machine or refund is to go down the court route but that could take a long time so am now in a position where I either have to.
A = Let them do whatever they want when they like.
B = Buy another machine and hope that the Judge will rule in our favour for a refund.0 -
It's not unreasonable for Comet to suggest a repair in the first instance. However, any remedy they do suggest must not overly inconvenience you. You are clearly at the point where the delays are a big inconvenience.
Write to their head office/complaints department stating the problem and the amount of time you've had to wait. Ask them to either refund you in full or replace with a different machine in accordance with the SOGA and ask that this is dealt with as a matter of priority given the amount of time that you've already had to wait."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
