Hi
How do i go about finding out who an old loan was taken out with? It is not on the credit report as it was taken out around the year 2000. Any help would be great as i would like to try and claim beck ppi.
Thanks

According to the MSE Guide to Reclaiming PPI (available from the Reclaim PPI and other Insurance board) it says:Hi

ThanksCheck your credit report. It lists any debts that were alive within the last six years, even if they're now closed.
Furthermore it goes on to sayIf your policy ended over six years ago: If this is the case, the ‘statue of limitations’ means banks don’t need to keep records. Yet the Ombudsman doesn't officially have a cut-off time. So if you’ve still got the paperwork, while your chances of success are a little lower with older loans, many still do successfully reclaim.
If you don't even remember who the loan was with, then it doesn't sound like you have the paperwork. What's more I suspect you also can't remember the details of the "lies and deceit" often involved to substantiate any mis-selling claim.
It was last century. Get over it and move on with your life
