I realise now why it was so heavy.
I tested it downstairs and forgot to let the water out.
    Ahh! That'll be it then.

    Cheers

Off for a look at those as well and like you I want to wallow in a bath. I can't believe how narrow some of them are as well!
Building regulations Part G covers water use, in new builds only at this point. But bath size is part of the water use calculation.

I would have thought a bath was a bath beyond a certain price point. But you might want a thicker acrylic moulding if you use it with a shower, or even a Carronite bath.

    Yep!

We got a Roca Laura toilet and basin suite as well which is fab quality for the price.

Then Roca Targa taps throughout which are lovely but a bit less MSE. :)

Reason #986 not to buy a new build. ;)

Off for a look, so thanks:) Know what you mean about taps as well from when we did the bathroom at the old house about 20 years ago. That was all Villeroy & Boch.

You are right and a Ferrari is just as much a car as a Ford Focus in the greater scheme of things.:D

For the OPs benefit if it's installed properly theres no reason why a cheap acrylic bath can't be used with a shower. A Carronite bath will cost roughly in the same order as a steel one on a spec for spec basis.

    Cheers

So, should we just go for the design of the bath I like and not what it's made of :o Notice the I as DH says as bath is a bath is a bath...............

Also, deciding whether to just stick with an over bath shower or bump up the budget and go with a shower cubicle as well is causing another headache.

A lottery win is needed I think as show me 12 baths or showers etc with no prices on and you can guarantee I like the most expensive-lol

I think you already know the answer to that question. ;)

Kinda surprised he's got that much of a say if he values his cooked meals etc for the next few years.

Dont try and squeeze a quart into a pint pot. If there isn't aesthetically as well as physically enough room for a separate shower and a bath then don't go for the separate option.

And that will almost certainly guarantee that the job doesn't get done. :rotfl:

Think you're right about the shower. We do have the room for one by ripping out the now redundant airing cupboard and moving the bath but then the bathroom would look better without one. Plus there's more to spend on the bath then;)
