We're planning on gutting our bathroom this year and having a move around as well.
First of no doubt many questions:o is which is better steel or acrylic. Also, can you recommend makes. We're not on an unlimited budget but don't want to buy cheap that will not last as we don't plan on replacing it again. Plan on staying here until clogs are popped-lol
TIA:)

If you're doing it yourself God help you trying to lift a steel bath upstairs. Stick to a decent acrylic one.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

We got a Roca Contessa steel bath when we did ours and I love it.
I looked at the capacity (in litres) of the baths and got the biggest I could for the dimensions that we had.
A lot of manufacturers are making the capacity smaller as it's more environmentally friendly (uses less water). Sod that! I don't have a bath often so when I do I want a big wallowy tub that feels more luxurious.
Ours holds about 200 litres. Some I looked at that again were the same dimensions only held 150 litres - big difference.
I can't remember what we paid for ours but I've just googled and it looks like you can get it for £100-120.
We went for steel because we have a shower over it and steel ones don't flex when you stand in them. I can't say I've noticed the bath water get cold quickly.0 -
p.s. Budget to spend more on the taps than the bath itself.
