any issues with phones4u or dialaphone?

I'm about to upgrade my phone.
I'm with Orange and would like to stay with them but they cannot match the offers from Phones4u or dialaphone who are offering similar deals with a free iphone 4s.

Orange say that these '3rd party' companies will sell your number to all and sundry because thats how they make their money back to allow them to sell contacts more cheaply and that they add on a lot of other charges.

I can't tell if this was a scare tactic to make me stay with them! I have been with orange for years and they have always been able to do me a good deal but they are very limited on what they can do with iphone!

Has anyone had any problems with phones 4 u or dialaphone?

Orange lie (typically for all sales persons). "3rd party" companies make money from huge commission that Orange (other department) pays them for attracting new customers, but are unwilling to pay you directly.
I have an O2 contract bought from d-a-p (nice phone with rubbish airtime costing me close to nothing after all redemption cashbacks). They have not added any charges to what was written on the tin. I have the contract for more than a year and I have not received any annoying phone calls/texts from any other companies.

Make sure you cancel the 'free' insurance and the 'gadget support'.
