PPI How Far Back is Possible please?

Hi, We paid £10 and received the A/C numbers that we held with the Clydesdale Bank, Sent them to the branch on the 5th June and after sending email again on the 9th July received this reply "I am awaiting an email response from our PPI claims team in regards to your claim. I will send a further email once I get a response."
How long should we wait for a reply from the Clydesdale PPI claims Team and has anyone had much success with just A/C numbers?
Thank you

Did you just send the account numbers with no detail of why you are complaining? Did you even check beforehand whether these accounts had PPI attached to them? If not, I would expect you to get a swift and blunt rejection.russellsnr wrote: »received the A/C numbers that we held with the Clydesdale Bank, Sent them to the branch on the 5th June
If, however, you've done the proper research to ascertain whether you actually had PPI and then sent them a completed Ombudsman Questionnaire with valid complaint reasons then the Bank have eight weeks in which to respond fully to your complaint.
No, without a fully researched and valid complaint you'll be rejected. Remember, it's not simply a matter of having had PPI; you need also to have been mis-sold it.russellsnr wrote: »has anyone had much success with just A/C numbers?
Didn't we inform you of all this months ago (at the start of this thread)?
Here's my post from the end of MayMoneyineptitude wrote: »You could ring the Bank (from anywhere in the world) and ask them to check if the account numbers in question had PPI attached to them. If the Bank confirm that they did, you then only need valid complaint reasons for the payment protection being mis-sold.
Do be aware, though, that if the loans are very old, you can expect the Bank to refuse to pay out redress, even if they actually uphold any complaint, unless you can provide evidence of payment in the form of statements from the time.0
