Hi all
My small businesses uses Unicom for the phone lines and calls, and in fairness we havn't had any problems with them. The contract ends this March so I am looking around for business deals.
I have a fax line with fibre broadband on with Plusnet, but don't really use the line for calls, and a main office line [multiline, that is with two lines on one] which handle all in / out phone call traffic.
Does anyone have any recommendation as to current best value providers for bushiness?
Thanks

I had a call today from a very pushy salesman from Unicom, he started off by implying he was from BT ,,,,,,,
then having asked the question, he followed up by being from Open-reach,,,,,
then he was contracted to BT & Open-reach finally when I asked for the second time who he worked for.... It was Unicom.
So I said I would do some research and if he rang back next week I would talk to him. AS he was in my area tomorrow he wanted an appointment,, I flat refused and he accused me of being rude to him.
The phone went down....
Having read the reviews on here I'm so glad it did.
Many thanks to all the contributors.... Consumer Power.:T

We have had ongoing dealings with Unicom re termination charges. After having been with them for 7 years we changed providers to get fibre optic broadband and unknown to us we were hit with a termination charge in Dec 2011. We tried over the phone and by letter to sort this matter out but to no avail. We have had no correspondence from them since mid 2012 after they issued threats of court proceedings.
Today, 18 months later, another notice of court proceedings has arrived. How can we put an end to this? We don't fancy more arguing over the phone or letters bouncing back not addressing our concerns.
Please can someone help???0 -
So is the ETC valid or not? If it's not, I'd take it to court and fight your corner-assuming that they actually intend to take it that far. Have you actually received the court papers, or is this simply a threat of civil action?
The usual procedure for telcoms is simply to trash your credit file and the sell the debt on.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi I'm in the same boat as a lot of people. I'm trying to leave Unicom after many many years just because I have found a better deal and they won't let me leave, they now say I am in the middle of a 3year contract and will have to pay termination fees etc. What can I do? Help0

Give them formal notice of termination at the earliest possible occasion. This will be stipulated in the terms you agreed.
There is no magic bullet - if you do not wish to pay over the odds, stick to the withdrawal plan and don't be so quick to think that any alternative can be cheaper than BT!0 -
And check the rates for yourself-never rely on a salesperson whose sole concern is his commission. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
