Why not buy private? cheaper..keep the middle man out.

They are changing their car so they have a trade-in
Also there is no warranty buying private, that's why its cheaper

That's one of the issues - without trading in my current car I probably won't be able to afford a new car (and we only have the one car which I need to get to and from work).
Also, I don't know enough about cars to start buying privately and would probably get stung with a lemon (although by the sound of stories from some car dealers this could still happen) there too)

far more unlikely with a reputable dealer but buying private is always 'Caveat emptor' (buyer beware)

If you want a more personalised service, have a chat with Richard Hool (Hool Cars). He doesn't hold a big stock but has a lot of contacts and will source you what you are looking for. I have bought a couple of cars from him and would happily do so again (even if he always manages to convince me to buy something better than I first intended!).
    Always overestimating...

Saw a couple of cars at (text removed by MSE Forum Team) on boucher road yesterday which looked ok - I take it I should steer clear? Any reason?

Also saw a few in SERE on boucher road too. Anyone have any thoughts on them?

I've never bought a car from (text removed by MSE forum Team) before, just had accident repairs and servicing done. Had problems both times.

My brother-in-law bought a nearly new car from them and had lots of problems with the electrics. Hursts denied that the car had ever had electrical problems which was funny because the instruction manual that was in the glove box was well thumbed and had notes written all over the page showing the fuses! He returned the car, got a refund and bought elsewhere.

I wouldn't buy from them but I'm sure others have had more positive experiences. My most recent dealing were with Agnews. A very positive experience overall and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I bought 2 cars from Stephen Mawhinney in Ballyclare and also recommended 2 friends who bought cars there and none of us had any trouble.

They are friendly and honest and a pleasure to buy from. Can't recommend highly enough!
