  • Therefore I rejected the delivery.

I am guessing I lose my delivery charge only ?

Can any forumites advise please ?

Posted my displeasure on Twitter to their customer care address however they mentioned the promotion finishing before the delivery day!

Unbelievable ? Not wonder they are struggling for market share.

I ordered mine including other groceries online on evening of 25 April for delivery this evening.

Email copy of order stated £15.85.

Delivery Gentleman arrived with receipt totalling £56!

Unlike other posters above, Tesco do not value my custom.

tbh that was a bit stupid getting your ordered delivered many days later. Once a glitch has gone live you need to get it delivered same or next day. The price goes off when the groceries are picked. So, if you have gone for an early morning slot then you would/may have been fine as this would have been picked about 6 am.

I think you will get everything back including delivery.

    Thanks 3010.

I hear your points about time, however my wife and work long hours - away from home; so it was not possible for us to schedule delivery sooner.

I believe if they cannot honour ordered price, they should give customers a quick call to advise of price difference.

Else it is a lottery, when it comes to pricing.

Sadly Tescos charged me the full £56.

However just called them and refund should be with me in 5 working days and have sent me a £10 voucher for my complaint.

I'm guessing that the number of phone calls they would have to make would make that system totally unworkable.

It says on the site that the prices are guide only and that promotions may change, so I'm not sure what your issue is.

You basically left it too late and missed out.

As for been charged the full amount that will always happen even if you refuse the delivery or are not in as they take the money before delivery to make sure they get the money before delivery.

  • Thanks for the responses folks.

Update and clarifications: 30 April refused delivery, 1 May money taken, 2 May called and spoke to Kirsty at customer services - advises 3-5 days for refund. 11 May still no refund, spoke to Clark - please call back between 9-5 Monday to Friday and it would 3-5 days as this was the banks processing time (rubbish)! - had to motivate him that it would not be wise to ask me to call back. He took my details, and had call back from another colleague this afternoon saying that refund was being processed.

I cant believe that you accept these price variations, since when has the price of groceries been volatile ?

I work for a company which use raw materials bought on the LME (which is significantly more volatile) and we engage a clause in our dealings. Yet we very rarely have to engage the clause.

I think I will stick with companies that offer integrity, not shady price setters. Each to their own I guess.
