Just come off the phone from Nationwide as my wife was unable, because of the queues, get any details regarding our eligibility for opening this ISA with them
Call centre very pleasant to deal with as they are aware of queues in branches and were willing to explain our eligibility.
Bottom line is even though it is not our current account (it’s a Flex Account) and we pay in £100 into each month we cannot apply (with the full amount) unless we pay in a minimum of £750 per month. Then we will only be eligible after three months providing the product is still being offered. Pity as we have savings with Nationwide and even that does not sway things! I would say ‘their loss’ but at 4.5% and I believe easy access, not that I wanted to access it, it was a good deal.

Are you saying you have a current account elsewhere so don't use your Flexaccount as a current account?
If so, you could qualify by transferring DDs from your other account. You don't have to close the other account if you don't want to. You still have to pay in £750 per month, but would qualify shortly after you start the switch.0 -
If you don't want to swap your "real" current account, open one somewhere else, open up a paypal and an ebay account, and set up a direct debit for each. You now have a live current account complete with direct debits, which you can "transfer";)We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

& easy access.
What they are trying to do is become people's main banker. Sounds like a good marketing ploy to me and as was said above, transfer a couple of DDs and move £750 a month in and out and you have it made.0 -
