At Mr Ts today, only had £2.29 small bottles left

Purchased a meal deal that came to £17.99 (the wine was £6.99)
    Meal discounted to £10.00

Purchased 6 small bottles of Merlot at £2.29 a bottle, total £13.74

    Discounts
    Wines 2 for £3.00 -£4.74
    Wine discount - £5.19

    Total to pay £13.81

So the small bottles cost me 63.5 pence each
  • Thanks OP. Got 60 bottles for the school summer fayre. Cost £57. We sell these for £2 so an easy profit without the mess of full bottles.

I used this Tesco deal last year for my wedding. We had an indian menu so used the Turner Road Merlot, Ernst & Julio Chardonnay and the Tesco Cava for the drinks reception. It was the cheapest way to stock up for a large wedding.

I did some reading up on red wines for spicy food and came up with a merlot. I guess it also depends on your budget.

Why not visit one of the local wine stores and ask their advice, pretending you'll buy from them

Please does anyone know if the 25% instore has finished today or if its tomorrow Monday?
    Many thanks
  • It finishes close of play tomorrow
If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused

the finest nero d'avola is in the current £10 meal deal and does compare in a jtd as £6.99 in t's, £5 in a's. So guess as people say you could get 6 meal deals for this and it'd work out quite a saving with £11.94 off via jtd or get 3 meal deals and 3 other wines maybe (as long as they're the same price in a's or cheaper otherwise it'll screw up your jtd)

however, does anyone know if jtd ignores the 25% off, so in other words you'd get 6 meal deals with £10.49 off (for your 25% off) making your 6 meal deals cost only £49.51 instead of £60 and then a further £11.94 back as a jtd?

I can also confirm that this white wine gives a jtd back of £2.99 per bottle, again don't know if jtd ignores the 25% off.

All you need is a temporary events licence from your local council - just applied for one for our jubilee party as we intend to have a bar (I have also purchased small bottles fom Tesco)
Cost for the licenec is £21 - most school fayres etc need one as it will be an advertised event - HTH

Can confirm that 25% comes off the price of 6 meal deals. I also managed to get 3 bottles of Nero D'Avola with them (only 3 left) so hopefully should get £5.97 JTD for them too.

Made my spend up to just over £80.00 to use the £10 off (taking into consideration only paying £48.00 ish for the meal deals) by buying things that I normally buy that are cheaper at Asda in the hope of getting the JTD. If it all comes off will get around £14.97 back JTD.
