One Way Car Hire - any recommendations?

Hi all, I'm facing a challenge with renting a car in the UK in June in that I want to drop it off at a separate location (LHR to BRS). The trouble with most of the scanners is that they don't include the one way fee (anything from £35-50) in the results, so the view is completely slanted.
Best I've found so far is Hertz via Ebookers, but can anyone recommend the best sites/companies for doing this kind of thing?
Doesn't seem to be any specific forum post or article mentioning one way rentals, might be useful to consider?
thanks!!

I had the same problem too, some car hire companies do have an airport transfer rate where they waive the one way fee and you drop it off at their office closest to you. I'd found that these weren't alot cheaper than just hiring the car and paying the one way fee until I have just checked with Avis, they have quoted £49 for a medium car from Manchester to Leicester and they collect from your home address as part of the service!
Hope that's useful to you. If not then Alamo's price with the one way charge was working out as the next cheapest for me (£110 though!)0 -
Same thread but USA One-Way - hirers want $300 oneway fee from Washington DC to New Orleans - has any body beat the system ?0

TBH that's a decent enough fee for that distance
One way round it is if the rental company has a glut of cars at one location they want shifting they may waive the fee. But that's unpredictable and probably seasonal and short notice and unlikely to fit your dates.0 -
Yes I agree it is reasonable , but we all know they say it costs them to return car to "Home" depot, but with big Hirers I reckon they just rehire from drop-off point, does it really matter to them what car is where -- only car type availability I guess -- reckon I will have to pay-up !0
