Post...Or Hand in to Branch?

Options
Hi All,
Quick question.

Have 2 completed ISA transfer forms needing to go to Santander.

Is there any advantage in terms of speed to handing in to nearest branch rather than posting to address given on website?

Or does it make no odds?

Thanks. :)

post - that will go directly to the isa dept

handing in to a branch is risky - staff will probably lose it - no tracking (unless you get a receipt) and the usual santander incompetencies as reported here in mse

I handed mine in at a Branch and got them to give me a receipted copy. That way I could be sure the "15-day clock" had started ticking, and the form couldn't get lost in the post. ISA has since been transferred ok.

Not heard from anyone yet that had any probs mailing the form to them, though.

I posted my form last Monday, phoned on friday to be told that they didn't know if they had received it. Phoned today to be told they didn't have it and the person on the phone said it would take 7 working days to investigate or I could hand another form into the branch.

She also told me my welcome pack had been sent out last Monday (not received). I refuse to believe that both my form and the welcome pack have both gone missing!

So I got off the phone and applied for the BM 4.05%. Before I send of the forms for that I will give Santander a call to see if they have found my form - if not then I'll close the account.

Thanks everybody, good advice both ways.

Got caught up at work today so couldn't get to branch.

Have just posted them, should be okay.

    Cheers.
