buying kitchen carcasses without doors

I'm having some work done on my house, partly because of problems caused by damp. I need 2 new 500mm base units and thought you could buy these without doors. However, I've just been looking on Wickes website and the cupboards all seem to come with doors. I don't need doors. Is it possible to buy base units/carcasses without doors?

Howdens will sell you carasses without doors.

I've just found some on B and Q's website. Do you have any idea which would be the best quality between B and Q and Howden's?

How dens will be far better quality. They are rigid carcasses, not flat pack so are stronger.

The general public can't buy from Howdens if I'm correct. Well that was the last time I went into their store in S!!!!horpe. I seem to think you have to be in the trade.

    I may be wrong though.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

There both actually flatpacks however howdens send them out pre built. So more or less exactly the same product just one has been put together by howdens and one put together by yourself.

The reason B&Q dont do pre-built is because they believe delivery of pre built units will compromise the rigidity in the moving and handling and think its better to build it on site and move it less.

Essentially though theyre both laminated chipboard, and off the top of my head (could be wrong) but i tihnk the B&Q units are a couple of mil thicker.

    LOL,
Howdens are prebuilt at the factory. They are dowelled and glued with no "cam fittings".
They are never a flat packed (meaning package flat) unit.

In your reasoning, Volkswagan cars are flat packed however Volkswagan send them out pre built.

However, They both are laminated chipboard.
IT kitchens from B&Q are 16mm
    Howdens are 18mm

    Appologies, i mustve been misinformed.
