15 year old looking for job

Is there anyway that a 15 year old can earn money. I've tried asking around for jobs but everywhere i go i get the same reply 'We only take on 16+ because of insurance policies'. If anyone can help then it would be a great help. Please reply..

Mine does babysitting. I think everywhere else needs a National insurance number.

you will need a work permit from your local education authority, then you will be covered on their insurance, speak to the child employment officer they will be able to advise you on this, there are strict rules and regulations regarding child workers

Restaurants often take under 16's on as comis waitresses...

you can work up to 4 hours a week without a permit, after that you need the permission of both your school and parents, and need to fill in some offical forms (this is the real reason many places do not take on under 16's...)

My three youngsters all did paper rounds from age 13 - 16.. earnt almost £20 per week for 6 early mornings! Even a Sunday morning paper round can earn around £5-7. If you can't manage (or Mum won't let you) an early morning round; quite a few of the freebie newspapers need after school delivery one day per week. Ask at local newsagents and ring the freebie papers.

You shouldn't really be doing more than a few hours a week anyway at 15 because it will have a negative impact on your schooling.

Try local restaurants as they will often employee young people to help in the kitchen with washing etc and it leaves the door open to working your way up.
