After some disasterous  outings to the supermarkets and general clothing shops with surly staff who are unable to say 'Hello' I wanted to get other people's opinions on how you feel about going shopping. What most annoys you about just trying to pick up a few groceries, your pet peeves etc?

When you're looking at the sales section and swarms of people then stand in front of you! Actually, this applies to all isles!
When people stop and have conversations in the middle of the isle!
When you have 2 or 3 items and the till person asks if you need any help with your packing! In fact it kind of annoys me when staff try to pack my backs anyway!!!
When the moron behind you stands too close and/or speaks ridiculously loudly to the person 5cm away!
The fact when you enter a car park as a motorist or pedestrian all the rules go out of the window:
NEW RULES- Don't look before crossing roads
- Ignore pedestrian crossings.
- Don't indicate.
- Fanny around looking for a parking space at the expense of others.
- Don't use your mirrors when reversing.
- Leave trollies in the middle of the road.
When Ms Arcon5 realises she's forgot something and insists we trooper back to the other end of the store for it.. then goes on to do the same thing several times!!0 -
When people stand in front of me when I am selecting a product
When sales assistants can clearly see you are struggling and choose to ignore you
When they can see someone frail/ elderly is struggling and you are helping them and they ignore both of you ( M & S )
When you are trying to work out how a product works and the sales staff are gossiping next to you while you nearly lose a finger folding a pram up ( Mothercare)
When you are choosing a frozen product from a floor freezer and someone flirts the other end open and you nearly lose your hand
When people start packing my bags - noooooooo!!!!!!! Leave it be, its my shopping and I want to pack it!
Shopping full stop0 -
When someone pushes their trolley so that it is parallel to and right next to the shelves and then stands next to said trolley alongside their spouse whilst spending five minutes picking up and slowly reading and discussing every last detail on every last product within range.
Thus managing to stop all other shoppers from accessing about five feet of shelf space for the duration. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
People who suddenly stop right in front of you, typically in the middle of an aisle.
The whole 'Do you need help packing?' thing is so patronising. I am a perfectly healthy 20 year old, I can manage to pack some groceries into a plastic bag quite fine by myself thank you.0 -
Well this p!ssed me off yesterday. In Tesco 09-30 and the tannoy called all managers to front of store. As i was trying to decide what one of only three open tills to use i counted said managers. 14! Yes FOURTEEN. Get on a blo@dy till.:cool:0

- When there are 2/3 people wandering down an aisle next to each other and all heading in the same direction, thus blocking the way for people going in the opposite direction
- People who pick frozen/refrigerated items up, then change their mind and dump the products on a shelf somewhere
- people who don't look where they're steering their trolley
- People who go through the self-service tills with about 50 items
- Staff who gossip with each other whilst they're serving me
- Kids running wild with no parents in sight
- Staff who block the aisles with crates of food so you can't fit a trolley down the aisle. Asda are awful for this. Crates and roll cages everywhere, usually with no staff in sight.
- people who maul the fresh cakes & bread before putting them back.
Re: the staff asking "Would you like any help packing", when I worked for Sainsbury's, we had to ask every customer this, as when we were mystery shopped, we were marked down if we didn't say that. We'd also get marked down if we didn't ask whether they wanted a bag. It's annoying, but that staff member would get reprimanded if they repeatedly failed those sections on the mystery shopping assessments0 -
Long queues at most check outs. Pick one with only one person waiting.
This person happens to be shopping for ten other people and wants each batch rung through seperately, with receipt and change given for each.
Came across the ultimate last week. Woman (why is it always women) had divided her shopping into three. One lot she paid with a debit card, another with a credit card and the last with cash. Seperate receipts for each transaction of course.0 -
I shop online for all them reasons and more! Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

I work in Sainsbury's too so I get this but it still seriously bugs me!0 -
It really winds me up when you have been served, and the cashier then calls the next person whilst you are trying to put you change away, and trying to put whatever you have just bought into your bag.
Have had to in the past walk away with change in hand, purse open and purchases hanging of my arm.0
