Creative TV Speakers and Freeview Signal

I've found most of my Freeview channels to be fine but have been having intermittent reception of the Film4 and Dave channels (can't remember the proper names). Tried various things but nothing really worked 100%.

However, I needed to disconnect my Creative speakers yesterday. When I did this I found that the problem channels were much better. I plugged the AC adaptor back in and the interference came back.
I'm just wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem and if they overcame it. The speakers are plugged into the same electrical socket set as the tv as the other sockets are too far away. I could get an extenstion cable if that helped but I'd rather not have to do that if possible.

Hi, the adapter is probably radiating electromagnetic radiation that is affecting the signal, have you tried moving the adapter as far away from the tv as possible to reduce the effect.

Keep the AC adaptor and any other power cords as far away from the aerial lead as possible - as above they can interfere.

Ok.
So really then the best option would be to just get a longer extension lead cord.
It doesn't help that the aerial outlet socket is right underneath the nearest electrical socket.

Correct. That's a silly place to put an aerial socket - particularly if it's an unscreened socket and/or the coaxial cable is not double-screened. make sure that at least the fly-lead plugged in to the socket is double-screened. Easy to make a good one to replace those nasty cheap thin ones that DIY stores love to sell. (I replaced one, yesterday, for a neighbour and he was amazed by the difference in signal quality.)

Ok. I need to check to see if socket is screened and if the coax is double screened or not.
