I'm currently with O2 but having problems with network coverage when at home so I'm currently looking at other providers, but need to find out what their tariffs are at a quick glance without going to each provider and looking to see who's the cheapest. Is there any way of doing this?

yes, there are many comparison websites.

    You can try mobilesupermarket(dot)net

Thanks for replying so quickly. I've had a look at that site and all I can see is the monthly contract fee and not what each network charges per call/text etc. Also I'm looking at PAYG and not contract.

  • Oh Sorry. There are many PAYG providers who offer bundle minutes for an amount say 100 mins for £5 topup . You can check asda mobiles - i think they are cheaper when I checked last time

That said, I think it's wrong to ignore sim-only contacts.

Thanks Grumbler, that's just what I was looking for.

Unfortunately I don't really use my mobile enough to warrant going onto contract as I'm lucky if I can get two months from a £10.00 top up.

Thanks to everyone who posted previously.

This question is probably the same as how long is a piece of string but I have a bit of a dilema.

I have managed to get down to three different networks, T-mobile, Orange and Family Mobile. My dilema is this. Do I go with the likes of Orange where my best plan is probably Racoon and all calls and texts are 12p and no free calls, T-mobile where if I top up £10.00 I can get 100 minutes free and then calls and texts are 20p and 12p respectively or do I go for Family Mobile where calls and texts are 8p and 4p respectively with no free calls? I guess I can rule out Racoon as it is just a more expensive version of Family Mobile but I'm trying to work out which is better value for money. If I've worked it out right I would get 25 extra minutes a month if I topped up £10.00 with T-mobile so part of me is saying this is the plan I should go for but the other part of me is saying the cheaper calls would make more sense.

Is there an easy way to work this out? I know it obviously all depends on my phone usage which is why I'm swaying towards Family Mobile to keep the costs down but the free calls on T-mobile are pulling me the other way and I know there's no such thing as free!!

You go to one that has decent reception where you need it. Top priority.

If you don't use your handset much, then make sure that you get a sim that doesn't expire if it's not active.

At t-mobile £10 get you 100 'free' minutes first month and 50 minutes next month(s).
For the same £10 at Family Mobile you get 125 minutes, but with more flexibility.

If you want to take saving to extreme you can 'recycle' £10 credit at t-mobile into about £6 cash via getpoundsback. So, 100 'free' minutes per month will cost you about £4.

Are you aware of £1=30minutes and £5=100minutes 1-months rolling contracts? It's Vectone and they use the same t-mobile/orange network.
