Yes, she does have a very bad spending habit and yes we think she does need proffesional help with it but as with anything else unless they accept that they have a problem they cant get help.
And no it is not a new habit, it is ongoing.
And no we did not shower her with money when she lived at home. She got everything she needed but our circumstances meant there was no room for extras. She has worked since she was 15 on various part time jobs.
No we dont know what she spends her money on, not all of it anyway. Well we do know what she spends most of it on pubs, clubs, eating and drinking out, Top Shop, New Look and other clothes shops and cosmetics. She also hates using buses and uses taxis a lot. She acts like she is on holiday every day of her life :rotfl:
We also suspect that when she does have money she is generous to her friends and takes them out etc but we also thinks she is does the same to her friends as she does to us, drives them crackers as well so taking them out may be her way of making it up to them!

PS Her student laon is not £1350 its quite a bit less and its divided into 3 lots with 16 weeks between them. It works out at about £275 a month (loan divided by 12) plus about 2 casual shifts a week, dont know exactly about 12 hours maybe another £65 a week. Rent and bills work out at about £300 a month. Still enough to live on but not enough for the social life.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
have you thought that it might not just be booze she spends the money on, on nights out? Friends of mine have ended up spending lots of money on other substances which can make you moody, apathetic etc - traits that shee seems to be displaying.0

Well we did wonder and still do as I imagine every parent does with kids just going up to uni for the first time. She did have some iffy mates when she was at home but no conclusivee evidence. As I imagine a lot of other parents do we try to read up as much as we can about drugs . She is very volatile at the best of times but I think that is in her nature, not because of substance abuse but mind you it would not be easy to tell.
She does do bar work and that is where a lot of deals are done.
You know this thing that your kids have to do the exact opposite of what you ask them. Well that is exactly what she does, the complete opposite but I dont know wether she would cross this line.
